too right rather expensive upgrade mate have to say. You tried a remap? that might give u some power think...u can get 1.4s remaped as my sig says I only have a 1.2 so I wouldnt know. Anyway think anything is possible just the amount of time and hassel you are going to get. You know the hassels with running a car thats factory let alone one with a whole new engine

there are 1.8 t s on ebay with box and ecu for around £800 also there are several brokers that can suply every thing for £1000

expect to spend atleast a couple of grand on parts and that's if your doing the work yourself, brakes, suspension etc as has already been said will need uprating and insurance will be the fun part (trust me i've been there)

first of all welcome to the site mate!

the engine conversion its going to cost you more than a cupra would so either pay off the finace with a loan and get a cupra or save your money!

even if you do go ahead with the convertion and spend as much as the cupra costs! your car wont have interior and exterior done

You can pick up a petrol fr for £7k on autotrader, surely it'd make more sense to sell your Ibiza, clear the finance and buy an fr.

right thanks for all the comments ill accept its a no go !!! what can i do to improve the performance of my 1.4 16v then ive already got a bmc filter and getting some fk coilovers also i have the cupra bodykit on order and have twin exit exhausts audi tt style (powerflow) and have audi rs8 (17s ) wheels with toyos thanks gary

a remap apparantly gives small power gains makes it more responsive better fuel efficiency! still pricey for what your getting butif you want the most performance!

on a N/A engine you will only get a handful of bhp /lb.ft at the best id imagine

ive never seen a 1.4 engine so dont know the setup but bigger throttle bodies inlet manifolds full system exhaust and manifold ect will get you the gains then remap should give more bhp gains

or a supercharger like nathwarr said stop beating round the bush

just accept its a 1.4 save your money and wait, then buy something stock faster.
