Hi Gents,
Its been a while ... the Cupra has been running fault free for over 10,000 miles now but was a little miffed to find the engine management light came on after I started the car on Monday.
VAGCOM plugged in gave this:
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0000 1001
(Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 35-00 - -
Thinking it was just a minor problem I reset the codes and the light went out ... this morning it came back on again
... so plugged in VAGCOM again and its the same error code.
Whats strange is that the light only came on both times when the car was idling...
Now from what I have read up on here and also Ross tech wiki its either the MAF or a vacuum leak?
Now the MAF is only six months old ... so I dont think it will be that therefore I'm thinking vacuum leak - does this sound right and if so whats the best way to trace it?
Cheers
Scott
