Wondering what kind of amp I'd need to run ? The output is 400 rms .. So I'm assuming a 400 watt amp ? Does anyone have any recommendations ? Not looking to spend mega bucks .. Probably between £50-100.

im about to fit me sub, just enquiring to your fit?
I also have no CD changer or ipod connection, was contenplating fitting a wire into the spare plug in the loom, but not sure on the connection,
is it much hassle to get at the lighter wire and snap lock on?

Am looking to replace my factory stereo system. Concerning the switched 12v live, I've been thinking about using an 'add-a-circuit' fuse adaptor, that will go into a spare fuse connector in the fusebox, on the right hand side of the dashboard, behind the plastic cover.
Something like the empty fuse connector for the sunroof, as the car doesnt have one!
Or there must be a number of other fuse connectors in the box that'll offer a live feed only when the ignition is on. Will get the multimeter out to see what works.

I have this head unit in my CR FR. Will I be able to fit the FLI active to this?

fitted sub the weekend, install took about 2hrs, no real dramas really, hardest part was getting power through bulkhead, from reading a write up on here someone talked about getting behind the battery (upon removal) and there is a rubber bung you can feed through.
Upon getting to this point, it is vertually impossible to get your hand and the cable into this point to "feed" therfore bodgers approach No1, longest screwdriver i could find, gaffa tape power cable to it, then probe bung intil penetration!!! and sucess after relativly little time!
snap lock connections to the speaker wires into line level converter, likewise connection to fag lighter 12v supply, this pops up literally around the fag lighter if you find a flat tool,
only thing left to do is secure the sub into place, as the almighty power of the cupra tends to make it wanna slide forward lol.....
simple as peas!

3 word tip for you if you do anything like that going forward... Wire Coat Hanger.
I've used a wire coat hanger taped to the cables when fitting subs in 5 or 6 different cars, and they're totally invaluable!
same as yogie, fitted my sub this weekend, used a line level converter and put it behind the standard headunit there was a little gap in the corner to put it in. ran the 12v power and amp cables down the n/s under the plastics, also run the remote wire down the same side using the cigarette lighter for power. holding the subwoofer in the boot with bungee cords ! doesnt move anywhere like it did with my civic type r

Try Velcro mate. It's a quid for about 5 metres of it in Wilko's, and if you run a line of it down either side of your sub on the bottom, it will stick like sh1t to a blanket! (or a sub to the boot floor)
Use some normal speaker wire from the terminals on the sub box to the correct terminal on the amp
If you can get some thicker cable that would be better due to the increased power to the sub...the sound quality will be better. Just get some from Richer Sounds or something like that.

Sticky velcro will work and it also means you don't need to screw into your seats....I just had my amp built into my box.
I'm looking at uprating the ICE & adding a sub too.
A friend has done this in his Meganne F1, sounds quite good too using a sealed enclosure & the false floor = boot space.
