Looks a good head unit! I have a Sony one, but fortunately it's red back lighting so still matches the colour of the dials etc, some good forward thinking before I even owned the car lol!
everything needs to match though mate, other wise i just looks odd.
the headunits got some good reviews, so fingers crossed. a really should get around to fitting it, i haven't had a headunit in the car for about two weeks now
you should get a readers ride thread on the go, let me see the beast what car do you drive?
It does match, fits in pretty well with the whole layout of the centre console as well. Seen a few double DIN head units fitted in the Ibiza, but that cubby hole below the head unit is far too useful to me lol!
i had to take it out and put a blanking plate over it because the old headunit just wouldn't fit with it in, but with any luck the new one should be ok to fit them both
Looks tidy fella, did you get the new headunit & the little cubby hole thing coz i wana change the headunit when i pick my ibiza up and would like to keep the cubby hole thing!
yes fitted it and am really pleased, dont have to keep cds in my car now just downloaded me albums onto my ipod and memory stick and plug it in. i didn't put the cubby hole back in just put the blanking plate back on.
i haven't got a camera at the minute otherwise i'd take some pictures. me and two of my mates refurbished and sprayed my wheels as wll so need to get some pictures up of them too.
Really nice looking car. big fan of the exhaust. sounds great aswell. i cant wait to be runnin a turbo. hopefully if my insurance isnt too bad i should be looking to get one either at 18 or 19. the brake discs look smart aswell. think i might have to get some bigger ones for my ibiza.
thanks mate glad you like it. i haven't driven her in a week because iv brusied all my right foot at work
tbh mate if your looking to get a FR/cupra in the coming years, i'd save the money and put it towards the new car. the FR is turbo'd (which you already new) and with a remap, you can see it to 170bhp and 300lb/ft torque and is only a group 7 or 8.
with the cupra it is a higher insurance (16) but you do get alot more, better looking bumpers, seat sports intercooler, bigger turbo, AP 4 pot brakes, 160bhp standard etc etc
No worries.
i wrote off a car in december last year in all the snow and ice so thats gonna have boosted my insurance right up. 18 or 19 was being ambitious so ill probably just end up getting one when im 20. im planning on going to uni so theres not much point in haveing a car then as it will just be sat in the garage for months at a time not being used.
ive been looking around and ive really started to like the leon cupra K1 but then again i like the old leon cupra r 225. my car as it is is worth about 8 grand so i could always sell that and buy an older FR/Cupra. but i just have to wait for the insurance to drop abit.
a yes, ive been looking for one for ages and nothing has quite hit the mark yet. id really like one with a twin exit exhaust but im looking at around 200 quid for a decent one and dont really want to spend much more than 100-150. i was thinking about buying one from the fr and just putting it on mine.
just go for a custom backbox mate, there should be a place near you that make and fit them. you can get the tip and you can choose the sound.
i got my turbo-back exhaust done at rebal powerpipes near me, it cost £283 which is half as less as the milltek full system and i got a life times warranty.
a lad i know has a 1.2 mk4 ibiza and he went to see about getting a backbox and he got quoted £140
