I received my Formentor yesterday on 1890, Hardware H58, seems to be really responsive and haven't had any problems yet just done over 100 miles since yesterday. I have noticed that the voice control seems to be very sensitive i.e. if talking to someone it pops up randomly- even when not saying Hola Hola. But I noticed you can turn it off so it's not a big deal

Notice everyone has a radio database as the last item. I don’t have that on mine.

Thanks , I bet nobody has told Motorvogue! Are you anywhere near York?
I've just taken mine into Cupra York today and they have updated my software from 1790 to 1896. I told them the issues I was having with the ACC and that software 1896 is supposed to fix it and now the software is far more responsive. Worth taking it in for :)

York are by far the best dealer we've come across locally

Before we became a VWAG independent workshop we had software issues.
The dealer who supplied our formentor (Letchworth) just stopped replying to emails & denied TPIs existing when they did. (KESSY issues).

Hull thought an Ibiza was a suitable courtesy car (I get it's a courtesy car, but why should we pay nearly £500 a month for an Ibiza because the car we bought wasn't built properly)

York gave us a demo Cupra Ateca and did/didn't do everything we asked. Can't recommend them highly enough

Good dealers are very hard to find! Braintree are shocking sh*t if they scratch your car (like on mine) they just ignore your emails and calls think just hope you go away. 😡

Reckon the family owned dealerships are better not the chain ones, where their money is on the line if they provide poor service. Had a terrible dealership once which had the radio slogan "nice people to do business with". If you need that slogan they aren't. They went bust. Another slogan we can speak 60 languages in our dealership... well English would be just fine. My last two were family owned and they have been good. I've had dealerships which do a management buy out then kick out the rubbish staff. The owner explained it to me once as "re-engineering" 😂. They did sell on to a chain later. That one went down hill a bit later. I do ask about who owns them 😉.

Will be interesting. Reckon if the rest is fixed it's only the SOS that is outstanding... could be wrong thou.
you name it ive had it lol ,in the last 24 hours ive had black reversing camera screen ,volume very loud on startup ,unable to lower.
car braking for no reason ,parking sensors going mad in queue of traffic ,unable to open tailgate and keyless not working ,just the norm for this car .drives me nuts.

Oops. The problem is people read the issues of the MQB Evo and think that effects all models. You can put a bracket around all of the MQB Evo's as work in progress, the rest are solid apart from the mib3 design which they fit to all models now. The question is whether the mib3 software update fixes the mib3 issues and what you get left which are the MQB Evo issues. Other non MQB Evo platforms with Mib3 you just see the moans of its design limitations not the wider system issues on boards.

You want to run Obdeleven before it goes in and detail which software release each component is on, do it again after and check what they have updated. 😉

What is happening (apart from the obvious) when a message comes up saying ‘Updating Vehicle Settings’ with a Cancel / OK option? The system then appears to do a quick reboot (a second or so) and then all is back to normal with no apparent changes (still 1804). Seems to happen every couple of days.

There are smaller software releases/tweaks that don't always affect the software version

I was about to conquer you up since you told me this previously 😍. Will be only infotainment things rather than wider system updates in the modules I'm sure. The SOS module would be a candidate for that I reckon, not a minor over the air.

That's why it would be good for someone to track exactly what fixes what so people know what to ask for. What I suggested @ninja_geezer to do via Obdeleven. Take a backup before and after so you can trace what they have done... As I'm sure you would do. 👍

Hi guys

i got my new Formentor thursday. Software 1890. I had another formentor for 9 months before and I can see visuel differences in the software, but then I think is there a 1896 version for mine or is the 1890 the new version for systems with the 10inch screen like mine ?

See what @East Yorkshire Retrofits says. Normally if it was like mib2 the incremental releases within a train can be applied across the model range. Suspect yours was built / part built got 1890 on it, but the software update came out after it left the factory in transit. Just a timing thing in the build. Ofcourse they might have noticed a defect in 1890 and 1896 fixed whatever that was....
