Front small door treble speaker sound coming and going

I drive a '01 Leon Stella 1.4.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me some info on this problem - there are 2 speakers in each door - a bass one low down and a small treble one on the mantle of the door.

The sound in my one in the passenger door comes and goes and is crackly most of the time. Is it a hard job to remove the door panel and check it out and perhaps solder any poor connection ?

I have seen threads on how to remove the panel but has anyone else experienced this problem?

I also hear a clear click (like freeplay) in the steering wheel - could this simply be a trackrod end?

have the same proplem on my drivers speaker , i pressume its fooked
