hey guys i just noticed that im only getting around 275 miles before the light comes on in my 1.6 16v leon so bout 350 for a tank, is that poor? I thought my car should of been getting abit more miles :( should i be worried because i dont really drive it all that quick just the odd tap of the go pedal.

anyways lets have a poll to see what everyone does to try and save some fuel lol.

i get around 300-330 , live in bangor and commute to belfast then drive round most of the day fixing servers and anything else.. i reckon 400 is on the cards if i lived in lurgan or somewhere and had a lot more relatively traffic free mway driving.

I'll be the first to admit I dont drive SLOWLY - I drive sensibly, taking care and dont go hammering it around all the time. So i didnt tick that box. But by driving sensibly I find my economy on my usual motorway journeys is on average about 33mpg which i am happy with.
I dont use the aircon much, apart from the odd blast to keep it running nicely and in extreme heat.

Gives me just on 300 miles before the warning, and about 350 to empty. Not to bad IMO.

Daz, you want to check your signature anyway - your car now thinks its an LCR so it adjusts it economy accordingly :D

i get roughly 25-29mpg on motorway a road journeys and around towns and small journeys around 21-25mpg so not to bad in lcr and i drive around a lil heavy fotted but hey dats why i bought a lcr

does ur car have multi function display , usually i throw the car in 6th n drive , this week (working farther away) ive been driving with the MFD set to instantaneous fuel consumption , as soon as the reading gets scary change gear , at 50mph in 4th i can get (indicated) 70MPG compared to 55mpg in 5th at same speed , try driving like this 4 a few days if u can n see if u can find the sweet spot for economy

short trips and traffic and im getting about 200 to a 45litre tank :( lights comes on at 180miles

on a run though it goes way up - almost 350 upwards so id say its not too bad - saw 47mpg on it once - lol

1.6's usually go all right once you wind em up a bit - certainly handle well with the lower weight - wouldnt panic yet

first 5 mins from work in mine it says 8mpg

the weekly commute see's me getting about 370 out of a tank in the 20v t cupra
i try to keep revs to below 2500 before changing and am careful with accelerator (not like you can go fast on A650 or M62 alot of the time).

Taking it on a 750 mile motorway rounder this weekend, so im expecting over 400 from it.

Average of about 33mpg combined which i dont think is too shabby, my gt4 was about 25

I have had my LCR 225 only 3 weeks and sick of filling it up....i have always blitzed my cars all over the show and had decent economy ( cause they have all been diesels, leon cupra tdi, ibiza cupra tdi, superchipped fabia vrs), but i have had to change my driving stlye , i go slow pretty much all the time ( 2000-3000 rpm)and return 15-30 mpg depending on traffic....I am only getting around 250 miles on a tank !!!!! Its a good job the drive is nice and the car is rapid or i would be very p1ssed off ha

10 mile to work, which takes around 50 mins to get there, i normally return 23-25 to work...ive had 33 on the motorway but when i take it out for a blast i get around 15mpg !

very funny pal, what i remember though i could never get close to that in my old leon cupra tdi !

I usually get around 300-350 miles to a tank in my LCR. I would of thought you should be getting slightly better economy than that unless you drive around with your foot planted to the floor everywhere?
