Seriously I've never known a car like it.
I bought my 03 Cupra at the start of November last year, not 3 months yet. The rac inspection showed brakes needed replacing and that was about it, structually sound and no other big issues. I knew the paint was naff but convinced myself I could live with it until funds would allow a remedy. It came with SEAT service history.
Three days later the indicators, wipers and lights stopped working. After a fruitless rac call out it was picked up by a friend we who has a garage. It needed a new ignition switch which fixed the issue. While it was there it had new Pagid discs and pads fitted both front and rear, a HID conversion that he had lying around and a Piper X filter fitted too along with some cheapo LEDs . It drove ok when picked up.
A couple of weeks later I booked it in to another friends garage and had a full service using only genuine parts and fluids and the cambelt was done then too. Car was on about 54.5k. It had diagnostics run on it and everything came back ok. About a week later it had a stage 1 map and again it drove ok.
A week later it started to hesitate and was taken back to the garage where a new N75 and MAF were fitted, from suggestions on the forum. It felt better but not right.
Scott (Mr OCD) on here very kindly offered to have a look at it with the right software and we found boost leak which resulted in a new Forge DV being fitted along with a new CTS bought from Seres in Ireland, very quick delivery. Again the car felt much better.
Two weeks ago I noticed the drivers and rear passenger footwells now had puddles in them which I'm currently soaking up with towels until I get around to fixing them, no doubt with help from Scott.
Then this morning I start the car and get the temp guage warning light and beep and the temp now fluctuates between 90 when slow moving or stationary and what looks like about 60-70 when driving at any speed over say 20mph.
It's driving me mad! I'm definately not mechanically minded, I can make them look good and drive pretty well but mechanical stuff I just leave to people who know better. All this has been utterly soul destroying and has cost a not so small fortune. Will it ever stop? Honestly I love the car when its briefly been running right but that just hasn't been enough compared to the time its felt right and not had issues. I'm terribly conscious of not knowing what I'm doing and having to rely on Scott who has been and continues to be a feckin star.
Sorry for the rant its just got me so down and I'm scared of driving the car how it should be driven for fear of what's going to go wrong next. I know I sound like a big girl but I've never known a car to have so much go wrong with it in such a short space of time. I just needed to let off steam ....and cry in a corner.
