not been funny but i think the brakes on my 130tdi are pretty good! it has been re-mapped and forge fmic but in 2 weeks is booked into allards for a stage 3 conversion. think it wil be time for a brake upgrade, which would you suggest? the 312mm conversion or just find a crashed cupra?

whats made you go to allards just out of intrest, i'm going for 312mm's with uprated disks pads and hoses and i'm told they shoukld be more than capable!!

Hi there mate to be honest jabba think i'm running about 205bhp but they aren't really sure well if they are they didnt tell me lol but its booked in on the 13th for a re-map as they were having problems with it, but in the meantime i have been speaking to Chris at P.I Fuel systems about a propane injection kit and he has said i should see somewhere between 20-30% power increase i'm not sure how strictly true that is i suppose devonmikeyboy would shed some light on that as he reccommended them to me ;) so should be getting that within the next 2 months :) but i will let you all know how it goes also having big breakes fitted on the 14th

Fair enough, so your'll be looking at anything near 250bhp with the PI system, does the car need to be mapped again for the gains to work on the PI system?

Or does your current map work? Is it £1300 for the PI system?

Mikey you are well and truly mental lol! I've just read the other thread about how much you've spent and what more you're getting in the next 2 weeks. It will never stop. Once you get the propane you'll be still wanting more and then you'll get NOS and then you may hit a wall (mental that is not actual) about what to do next, I suppose injectors and cams maybe even a new car ;)

20-30% is a bit opomistic as you already have a highly tuned car. You should see about 20-30 bhp though depending on the map and turbo.

AP brakes from a PD160 are a lot better but a real bitch to get hold of second hand. He is propbably going to Allards as they are the best when it comes to diesel tuning.

The system should work OK with the current map depending on boost and EGT temps

Next engine mod would be NOS or bigger turbo as long as no problems start to show like very high EGT temps or maybe the head lifting off. Mikey H reminds me of myself back in 2005 when i was modding my PD Cupra.

Cheers mikey, might look at that in the future for abit more power :)

How is the mixing ratio? If you fill your tank with diesel and fill your propane tank they do run out at the same time!? Crazy but interesting to know!

With my set up a 25L tank of propane lasts about 4-5 tanks which is about 240-300L of diesel. It`s a very cheap mod to run and the system i have works brillently. There are other systems out there which some people have tried but don`t seem to work very well, why that is i don`t know. The good thing about this system is you can move it from car to car if you happen to buy a new diesel car or do something stupid like roll it.

.

so you think i should see about 260-270ish?? i have asked jabba to re-map my car as close to their fabia as possible and from what nick at jabba tells me he has pretty much the same setup as me just a slightly bigger intercooler and they say his is running about 250bhp so i'm kind of hoping for 240ish but i'm not to sure.

i suppose each to their own tuning company wise the reason i stand by jabba is because their service is great they are a very honest bunch of chaps aswell not telling you to buy something just to make them money infact on 2 occasions nick has even talked me out of buying stuff i.e. dp and decat before i had the big turbo as mike said it would put stress on the turbo and shorten the life.

Well mate i certainly hope i end up with a car like yours in 2 years time haha to be honest i have talked myself 100% out of NOS don't know why but just won't be doing that as far as injectors i hate the black smoke out the back and have read that bigger injectors = lots and lots of black smoke so will be stearing clear, bigger turbo??? i think prob not for 2 reasons 1) i just bought this one lol 2) bigger the turbo the more lag and i hate turbo lag lol as devonmikeyboy has advised me earlier in this thread cams prob wouldnt be a good idea although i would like the car to rev round further what do i need to do to achive that mikey??

On stock injectors you will see about 230bhp on most RR`s no matter what turbo you have fitted. I had about 30bhp increase with a VT2 fitted but since i know nothing about Jabba`s turbo`s it`s hard to say what you should get but basically with the propane system fitted fuelling is never a problem any more as the system can provide plenty of propane it`s getting enough oxygen into the cylinder is your next problem. So basically the power increase you get is more down to how much air your turbo can get into the engine. My VT5 can push more air then the VT2 i had fitted on my Cupra so i got more bhp gain when i fitted the kit to my Audi.

ok i get you the guy at P.I was really nice chap i made a big point of saying that you reccommended him so maybe next time you need anything from him ;) how did you get your car to rev to 6000rpm though?? thats one of my only problems with a diesel lol if it revved to 6k would be able to go so much faster only prob when racing petrols is they are still holding the power whilst your changing gear happened with a scooby last night i pulled away a bit then i changed gear and he went past me a bit then i got level and had to change gear again lol and i really wish forge would bring out a short shifter for my car when i drive my brothers car the shortshifter makes such a difference makes the gearbox feel solid then i drive mine and it feels like jelly lol

I am not a great fan of NOS but it does the job. It is only fitted as the VT5 doesn`t give me the power i want.
It is possible to get a diesel car to rev 1K or so higher with a lot of engine work and a good mapper but i don`t know of any way to get more then 5-6K from a PD engine, if you ever find out let me know but you are fighting against the way a diesel engine works. If you want high revs get a petrol basically.
If you haven`t got an LSD fitted yet thats one of the next mods i would be thinking about as i remember what a nightmare 265bhp was in my Cupra when it was damp or wet roads.

your car revvs to 6k doesn't it?? i was thinking maybe it was engine internals?? yea i have been looking into a LSD how much do they cost roughly?? my car is pretty bad as it is to be honest but i'm not a massive fan of driving madly in the wet anyway

Chris is a really helpful bloke. I have got a Forge short shifter for my car which i keep on meaning to sell when i can be assed to.

LSD is about £1000ish fitted. Jabba should be able to sort you out with a good price. It`s not just in the wet you will notice the difference but in the dry as well when cornering mostly. It`s not as good as 4WD but as close as your going to get.

I know JBS were looking into it, but decided the manufacturing costs would be that high for a full short shifter they wouldnt sell any :(
