all thats on the car is a K&N filter. might invest in a DV soon, moneys always an issue.

was very damp and greasy that day, was fun. that was a second gear using the turbo torque rather than power.

going back to this thread of how well the cupra handles.......

In my opinion the handling is great as long as you only drive it at 75%... any more than that and the understeer is stupid... not really had a problem with oversteer much (If you still braking while going deep into a corner then your just asking for trouble). The spring and damping rates seem completely different from front to rear.. The front feels fairly stiff but with a good amount of body roll but the rear just seems to bounce around all over the place...
Never really get any scarey moments under braking, the back end does wave around 1 hell of alot which isn't very confidence inspiring but it never goes far....

I come from a 205 in the past and to say the ibiza would ever keep up with a 205 round twistys would be just foolish. I've 3 205s ranging from standard to 180bhp with decent suspension.. The 205 might feel like it wants to kill you at any oppertunity but by christ it would leave a bitza for dead round the corners if you drove it properly....

Yep agree with Simon L

Just a quickie then..
You say with the spacers on it reduces the understeer a little is this right?????
Thought it would just stop the rear end waving around quite so much under braking, if it'll reduce the understeer then I might try and get em a bit sooner rather than later...

I was going quite deep round a corner at a controlable speed in 3rd gear prob 70% accelerating but there was a right turn not far after which had a small queue of cars waiting behind it so when i saw this i was still turning and had to apply the brakes or would have gone into the back of them, it sent the back end nuts needless to say which was a scary moment, stopped in time but it didnt feel very safe!
Getting some rear spacers v soon....

Personaly I find the rear end fairly stable and if it does start to wander it comes out fairly slowly and is easy to correct...
If you'd tried doing that same braking manover in a 205 you would have been pointing backwards in the time it takes to blink.... If your fairly hard into a corner all you need do is lift off the throttle and the backs stepping out so you can imagine what it'd do if you braked...

Admittedly you get alot less feedback from the ibiza than you do a 205 so its not quite so easy to know what the car is gonna do..

The ibiza does feel a bit loose and it does wander around quite alot but at no time would i call it scary...
I've had my balls in my mouth on only a few rare occasions in the ibiza, most of which were when I first got the car and I was kinda expecting more from the car in the handling stakes....... But it was still the amount of understeer that gets me.. It just has so much weight over the front wheels it just struggles with front end cornering grip...
