Hello, i want to do the retrofit mysqlf and came across the question if it would be possible to use the cupra born steering wheeel as it has a drive mode button and i dont have keyless go and change the touch buttons to physical buttons.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that @cairus once said that Born (MEB platform) MFSW buttons send different signal than Leon ones (MQB/MQBEvo platform) and cannot be switched without some signal emulation in between.

Oh okay thanks, i have the problem that i want the cupra design but also dont have DSG and there are only options with paddels
Maybe i go with the paddle option and just remove them

There are Cupra steering wheels without DSG paddles but are rather rare (e.g. 5FF419091A but most of the times have white stitches and silver trim from Seat, not Cupra). You could do similar thing that I did in my car - FR steering wheel (with custom leather and stitches) with Cupra trims.

Every other image of 5FA419091FN on the internet shows that this steering wheel has DSG paddles, e.g. here: https://www.ebay.pl/itm/355195317289

Okay i already bought one with paddles they dont bother me, other question, can i use the clock cpring partno. 5Q0953549E for this retrofit? (newer suffix "E"?)
That one is already in my car and if i can use this that would be awesome

Unfortunately not, because it does not support heating. Only 5Q0953549B or 5Q0953549D directly fits and has support for heating in your case.

Also another question as im gathering up the parts. I have the original stalk with extra acc lever, can i just leave it as it is or do i really need to get a new stalk?

You need to check which manufacturer your control unit is from. Also you need the same manufacturer for the steering column switches

Sorry do you mean the clock spring module with that? My english is not the best

There are a lot of variables that defines stalk part number, but for Leon 3 there are two main things:

- what kind of slip ring are you installing? 5Q0 or 5Q1?
- are you going to buy steering wheel with assistants button or with Travel Assist button?

So you've got 5Q0 slip ring and steering wheel with Travel Assist button.

If you have any assistant in your car (Front Assist, Line Assist, Light Assist and so on) you want to order stalks with Assistants button of left stalk with 5Q0953513AJ part number. If you don't have any assistants then you can order stalks with 5Q0953513P part number which does not have Assistants button of left stalk.

Nachdem ich den Lenkstockschalter komplett zerlegt habe, um den Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzerknopf umzubauen, spekuliere ich nur, da ich es nicht getestet habe. Ich denke aber, dass es funktionieren sollte, wenn man die nicht mehr benötigte Einheit einfach ausbaut. Ob die Lenkstockschaltereinheit dann meldet, dass ein Teilnehmer fehlt, weiß ich allerdings nicht…
