Is there an easy way to fix an oil leak?

Bought some stuff that you add to your oil from halfords but i think its got worse, havent investigated where from yet but im thinking i should be soon as its got a little large for my liking. so as title please

it'll be one of the gaskets that's dissintergrated (spl?!?)

try and work out if it's the rocker cover gasket (top of the engine) or the sump gasket (bottom of the engine). Both these should be DIY'able.

If the leaks coming from the middle of the engine then it's possibly the head gasket.... not DIY'able really.

Also check the sump nut and washer!

and the oil filter thinking about it only needs to be 'hand-tight' though.

suppose, i could give it a service and then clean everything engine wise then have a look where its from. is the sump just bolt on bolts off? didnt even think of the oil filter! will check all when i get a spare few hours from UNI.

you may find that the driver shaft gets in the way of a few of the bolts holding the sump on..... other than that, it's a bolt on/off jobbie.... just make sure you drain the oil out first !!!

get in the way in a sense that they are awkward, or in a way that theyd need to come off to tget to them.
