Just a quick one on strut brace

sweet, im hoping mid vw will do it, ive got a jabba filter and its got a surround that gonna need altering to get the brace over it, some garages may be funny about doing these mods and its not a big standard fit thing..

i read that awesome would do it..

Well its bad news peeps....

the strut brace DOESNT fit!!!!!

Jody @ midvw offered it up and it just won't fit at all...im gonna take a look at home but it won't go round the turret section as far as i understood! so im guessing its just the wrong one!!!! Bollox

So its back home with the bolts

Looking at the pic of it, it looks the same as my S3 upper, except the little extra brackety bit's.

Can't understand why it won't fit round the turret tops tho' tbh, cos i thought all golf mk4/tt/ leons had the same floor pan ..... weird

Althought it does say 2005 in the ad maybe thats the difference the 05 tt uses the later leon mk5 golf floor pan perhaps ???

any local garage will fit it once you take a slight notch out of it, if i were still on TNT kingsbury id have fitted it for you

What is the notch for? because of the bonnet lifter bracket?

yep it helps the brace fit better under the bracket for the strut, im in Kent but was in tammy every night on TNT

With mine i filled the raised edge flat where the bonnet lifter bracket is, cos the brace wasn't sitting centrally over the turrets, once i'd done that it sat centrally over the turret tops.

Don't know if you can seethat in the picture very well tho'

Here you go dude, if you need any more let me know...

This pic i've high lighted where i filed it flat to the surface of the brace so the bonnet lifter would fit, there about 2-3mm clearence now where as before it was hitting the lifter.

I know i've read on here that some people have hammered the lifter bracket over so it clears the brace, but i thought it was better to file the brace as it's an add on rather that start hammering the car....
