Rear door speaker needed fixing as it was shorting out and made the headunit loose radio stations for some bizarre reason, Cupra badge lost it's paint and something happenned with the brakes that made them clonk ridiculously loud. Oh, and a new engine.

I've had the coil pack replaced, 2 new throttle bodies and finally a new ECU. Been without the car for about 10 weeks whilst they stuggled to rectify the problem. Had it back for 4 weeks now with no further problems. NOt good enough on a brand new car in my humble opinion.

Drivers instrument binnacle was loose - as in not actually held in at all.
Squeeky rear suspension
Changer is temperamental

Erm, nothing major really, but the rattles are damned annoying.

Had mine 17k miles and 9 months and I have lots of really small picky things;-

Loss of turbo on cold mornings (just turn ignition off/on to reset)
Pink rear callipers
Rear washer jet failed
3months wait for a new centre airvent - red paint fell off the toggle switch - it works fine just looks naff.
Creaking rear suspension

And one fault that went so bad I decided to keep it, the cupra badge on the back all of the black letters fell out, now it's all silver saying cupra, kinda cool and different from the black and red ones everyone else has so i'm keeping it.

Ohhh and lets not start on the dealer service

It's good to see that there aren't many with major mechanical issues, like gearboxes or internals esspecially with so many being chipped - can only be good for the long term future of them.

As for rattles well they don't really count unless the car is brand new, as all cars develop these.

My creaking front drivers side suspension is back over last 3 days, despite having a new strut bush housing fitted 3 months ago. It definately gets worse as the car heats up / been on the road for more than 15 minutes of not even quick driving let alone spirited driving. Getting more and more convinced its got something to do with the top mount bushes.

Keep them coming, it can onlt help us all to know if there are any serious problems starting to occur.

Yeah i'm sure of that too, maybe they've missed this thread

I think there was over 150LCR owners on here a while back, and seem to recall some with more major mechanical failures - can't recall what though ?

Yeah, one of the gear selector rods in the box decided to fall off while Revo had it. It was only a week old so probably came out of the factory faulty. :joystick:

New wings mirrors due to creaking when pulled in
New badges all round
Gear knob and due to have another one.
Waiting for a whistling noise to be cured that comes from top of dash as 50 60 mph
Rear suspension knocking under load still awaiting fix
loss of turbo continuosly and intermittently

Bottom line its a dog i would have put down a long time ago if the power wasnt there :p

When mine was 3 days old with 350 miles on the clock the cam belt snapped. Total engine failiure.

The engine was replaced.

It then broke down another 3 times and i had to be rescued by the AA because the dealer didnt put it back together properly.

It then got taken down to Dover to the Seat specialist vehicle preparation place. (They do the press cars) To make sure it was back together properly.

They repalced:
High level brake light (moisture in it)
Damaged wheel
Washer bottle (leaking)
and finished off what the dealer had started with putting the new engine in.

They sorted out a couple of rattles and buzzes in the cabin and tried to make the glovebox open smoothly (it still aint right)

It hasnt broken down since.

Mine has all the problems with the paint getting damaged easily, windows rattling when half open, the cabin rattling (as bad as my old Saxo VTR).

It seems to drink quite a lot of oil too and tyre wear is pretty frightening and the clutch goes heavy when i dont change gear for over 15 mins.

The worst part of having this car has been dealing with the dealership i bought the it from.

I must admit reading this thread is a bit worrying and it proves VAG build quality is another one of those urban myths
