it still in garage at min, i went down last night and had a rite good chin wag with the guy, he says it looks a good install but as i said, where the pipes reduce the smaller one has gone inside the bigger one by at least 6 inches... this will cause a bottleneck and quite a bit of back pressure which im hoping is causing the turbo issue. whaddya reckon

so im off up there in a bit, gonna chop the pipe to the right length and straiten it out a bit to create a smoother airflow. hopefully that will sort it.

2.5 to 2 inch i think but the 2 inch pipe sits inside the 2.5 by around 4 inches, surely the airflow would flow back up the sides of the 2inch pipe until it hit the reducer then flow back again and so on causing a bottle neck similar to that of a leak really\??

Is the flow going with the smaller pipe or against it, if its against it then yes i can see it being a problem like you say, but if its going with it i would have thought the air would just go in to the bigger pipe with out causing any problems, but then i'm not an expert.

its with the pipe.... still cant be good.

cant think what else it would be then tbh.

feels like hardly and boost, all joins are tight now and no air leaks apparent....just not running right at all. feels like its restricted somewhere big style

James maybe there is a possibility that intercooler itself is faulty and restricted inside? No idea how to check that thought.

I take it you dont have a boost gauge, this will help alot as you will be able to see whats happening.

right, its sorted, after garage struggling, i got bag on and drove home, felt the same, looked uder bonnet, hose from dv top popped off, thought nothing of it, plugged it back in and wallop!!!! power on tap again, so nowt to do with fmic just the vac pipe from dv....

happy camper now, plus i drove for 10 mins and the inlet manny and pipework on that side cold.. so fmic working well.

off to do some logs now i thinks.

happy days again

Feel much difference mate?

Glad you got it sorted :)

yeah feels good, cured low end hesitation, been out to log but too foggy really, been out 20 mins, fmic pipes to inlet manny stone cold, inlet manny warming up... got a phenolic gasket here from bill to fit next

log tomorrow to see if its cured timing pull and high inlet temps

no pics of install but will try to get some of it now.

all in all a good piece of kit, easy fitment just my stupidness not connecting dv pipe up tight enough

well it wasnt off just i hadnt tightened properly, but yeah they should have seen that really.

just the thought is ive fitted this and its not working now so you go looking for the most in obvious...

yeah low revs part throttle jerkiness... seems to have cured that

really is amazing how cold the inlet manny pipe is compared to the turbo outlet pipe
