no it shouldnt cause any problems

if you think about it its more problematic to live with the CEL light on, could mask something really up with car and you ignore it cos you think its the sensor!!!

first time took it in to seat and came up as lamba 1 in front of cat.
i took it in because my car actually started bunny hopping.

cowie,

its the fact that the ecu still thinks you have the OE exhuast on. the sports cat is less restrictive so the levels of co2 etc coming out the sports cat are greater than would from an OE cat. ECU thinks your cat is knackered and turns the engine light on.

you may be lucky, i dont know, just be aware that if it does come on it wont be a total surprise. mine never came on, but once it did it keeps coming on every 1-200 miles if erased.

It is only a light, it doesnt retard the timing/fueling of the car so its no different. But its annoying having the EM light on, and if you do have another prob it could mask it as it wont show if light is on due to exhuast.

Trusty paper and marker pen could come into play haha

Garry,

Doing this and then fitting the spacers isnt a guarentee'd fix so id think wisely about pursuing it. It sounds like the problem is only 100cel cats not the 200's you use so again it wouldnt affect your systems.

The only permenant solution is to have it mapped out entirely

Rik - No worries. It makes no diference to us where the boss is located so if we put it on the side, we can cover every possibility :)

Yes, we do only use 200 cell cats. We use 100 cell on our Touring car systems, but these are on fully mapped race cars (and changed every few races), they are just not suitable for long term road use on a production system, and i cant understand why companies insist on using 100 cell cats just to save a few quid on cost. Sorry, mini rant over. Not at anyone, just letting it out:p

Kind Regards

lol. Im sure we could come to some form of financial Vs Feedback deal. Would be hard to explain to the boss tho.. lol, "yes we have a car in here already for testing, but another would not hurt now would it?"

And besides, how could i choose between you and Rick ;) (cough, cough, bribe, cough, cough)

Kind Regards
