in short, no.
you'd need to mess about with the floorpan, fuel tank and all sorts. not worth anywhere near the effort required.
if you really want a 4wd leon, import one from the continent

afaik the quattro system is different to the 4motion one VW and Seat use anyway

Not worth the effort imo. My son has a VW 4 motion and he was still getting stuck in the snow. Not like low ratio Land Rover type 4x4.

Would the engine ont have to be turned a quarter of a turn? The transverse set up is most common in FWD, inline for RWD or 4WD. The g/box wouldn't do as it's only a 2WD/ FWD setup so a new g/box is needed.
Now honestly, would it not be easier to buy an S3, cut the body off completelt, then weld on the LCR body. I'm sure that would be the easiest way of doing it.
Not to mention the 4WD will have a TAX band that makes it £400+ a year!

Will you run into any other problems? what sort of power will the gearbox/propshaft take?

I know it's a whole other ball game, but a couple of guys used the diesel running gear from the 4WD 4EFE (1.3 N/A) import Starlets with the 5EFHE bottom end + 4EFTE (1.3Turbo) top-end and when they started hitting about 300bhp they started blowing up transmission.

well some of the guys if you search that thread (and if you search threads by vee_dub_modder) are running 4-500bhp so i dont thin k there are any real probs?? plenty on the mkiv forum and vwvortex about it... done over seas alot so it seams

my diesel's been fine in the snow. never had any problems with it, even in norway!

must be my übertorques!
or perhaps your son has crap tyres :p
although tbh even good summer tyres are rubbish in snow
