Hi all currently working on a mates leon cupra for him fitting a few bits and bobs and car had been standing about for a while and was a bit lumpy when started but wasnt worried about it as with all the usual checks i was confident it would be fine. Problem i have is suddenly (without me starting to check anything) the car is now just turning over but not starting! I have checked the fuses (32 inparticular) and changed the fuel relay (409 under the steering wheel) but problem still there. Pulled out the injectors (checked there was fuel there first and plently), put a meter on them and not getting any power so cant make head or tail of it. Anyone got an ideas please as puzzling the hell out of me :(

I had a similar problem on my old 106 Gti, and the problem was the speed sensor found on the gearbox, it senses the speed the flywheel turns, and mine was broken so would turn over but not start.
Worth a try but not sure where it is on the Leon.

me too, a rat made its home in my engine bay when I parked up everyday in my work garage and eventually chewed throught the lead to the speed sensor. Little sod cost me a fortune. It turned over but wouldnt fire up. If you look at the wiring at the front of the engine low down thats where mine was. good luck

ok cheers lads will have a look and try and see if that has snapped. Went to the breakers earlier and grabbed a load of relays off a golf as getting a clicking noise from behind the dash when ignition is on (checked fuel relay already). Also just noticed that the speedo goes up to 50 ish and then comes back down to zero when i try to start the car and speakers make a funny popping noise once?! Puzzling the hell out of me!
