Hey Jamie, your getting there. You've done the hard work. Don't get dispondent.
Anything worthwhile ain't easy. You'll have it sorted in no time. The actuator is the only item you haven't adjusted so heres hoping.:)
If it is a case of too greater a backpressure blowing a too weak an actuator open as Bill Sugests, tightening the actuator will do the trick. ;) It worked for me on my hybrid. I just would of thought that the equal length mani would be getting the gases away quickly enough for back pressure to be less of an issue. All the fun of the tuning game.

thanks mate:)

maybe the actuator is wound too tight for the gases from the mani to do their trick, who knows......

need to call CR Turbo's for more clips today, as I have a feeling I am going to be loosing a few;)

exhuast housing is still shite tho... restrictive in itself..

and thank you for that constructive comment

I think its a case that its not tight enough, The thing is is CR turbos replaced the actuator .........It may be that they didn't replace it to the same pressure as a stock GT2X actuator is set to.

Sod removing the circlip evey time! Do what was done to mine and unbolt the actuator housing from the bracket and spin it round leaving the rod connected ot the arm. This will be a long process without a hand pump as you will have to reattach it and then drive like but with the pump you can check the pressure.

Speak to CR turbos and find out what they set it at and if they didnt why and also speak to P-torque and find out what it was set at and if they didnt check it why and what it needs t be set at. This may not be the final answer to your problem as the N75 control might not be set right in the map because of this I think.

BUT on the modified GT2x, it only has one nut, which just loosens....

I was going to say that was a std ATP fitment, but looking at my std ATP fitment.......

Is it possible that the back pressure from the exhaust could be restricting the exhaust gas frow and therefore the boost pressure?

I know P-Torque were involved in an issue with someone on here, where they had remapped a Leon with success but when he changed the exhaust for an aftermarket one, the new back pressure created was restrictive, causing a lack of power.

Although Will would have been able to map this accordingly in your case, as he did with the issue above, which solved the problem, it could be causing a restriction in your case, against what you are expecting from your turbo??

Perhaps something to try if the above from PJ and what you have been discussing doesn't bring any answers.

That looks neat Rob, with the thumb wheel! So it looks like they are just different variations on a theme then.

Except Jamie's doesn't give the ability to adjust without taking one end off.

just rang CR Turbos and spoke to Mark "what a thoroughly bl00dy nice bloke"

they really are very helpful indeed and they are sending some more circlips to arrive soon

he said 1 full turn of the rod is about equal to 1psi

so if I am hitting 1.1 bar as standard on the turbo at the moment with the N75, and it needs to hit 1.4 bar. thats an increase of 5psi, which of course will equate to 5 turns, roughly

just to check, I am winding the actuator "IN" to increase boost pressure right?

I think that is the right way mate. Should of asked them when you were on the phone?

lol I did, but at work and had to go as lots to do....but some how I am on here again:D

wind in to increase = opening the actuator I presume

shorten the rod pretensions the actuator

BUT  what is its static pressure setting?

Surely someone knows this?

This is the question. My stock K04 was about 5 psi but the hybrid needed at least 10 psi to start making good figures. CR Turbos should know what they set it at. Email him Jamie if you don't want to hastle him on the Phone.

when I called CR Turbo's they stated they typically set this around 1 - 1.1bar, which would be right as the car is making 1.1bar at present

As far as I'm aware it's a 1 BAR (14.5psi) spring in the actuator on the GT2X.

this further confirms what the actuator is currently set at

I dont think I will have time to do this until Friday now as I am busy with other commitments, work, family etc, and Friday it will be done pending weather, because if its a storm outside again then I sure wont be out there
