am i right in thinking that the later 2L 16v enbgines have a gearbox thatll bolt straight onto the 1.8T lump... in which case is it in lehmans terms, a case of swapping the engine only and then everything atached to the gearbox can stay in?
somewhere im sure ive read that the 1.8Turbo fits onto the 16v gearbox all be it 5 speed and you can use that, and then just attatch everything from the 1.8T bar anything from the gearbox on.

gearbox should bolt straight on as far as i know but ratios will be different
the wiring on the 16v and 20vt are different aswell (more sensors on the 20vt) so you will need the loom or will have to do major mods to the 16v loom to make it work properly
