Damn, I'm too slow. The inlet hose has been taxed. Let ME know you for any reason you will be getting rid of the strut brace.

Just wondering would a strut brace make much difference on a lowered car, If so I might just have to go and invest in one.

I doubt anyone will want the engine & box, if it's going in a golf, they tend to prefer using an 020

I was just hoping that someone would want to upgrade a 1.4 or something as the whole wiring loom, ECU and dials will be sold with the engine and box!

Myself and Martin M started work today on striping his donor car ready to put the 20vt engine into his mk2 gti 16v

We're using another mk3 as a donor car as the majority of it bolts straight in and it seems people are crashing them left right and centre at the moment :(

Today we got most of the wiring loom out of the engine bay and majority of the interior aswell

Here's a few pics for the moment and i'll update them as we get further with it

do you need some sort of dummy sensor or something to stop the airbags goin off when u start pulling out the loom?

ah right i see. from the wiring loom out of the mk3, what did you do with the wires for the computer in the dash, just leave them dead?

left all the wires dead, i didn't use any of the airbags in my conversion and we're not going to in this one, anything airbag related has been removed and the warning light on the dash will be covered up

are they wired into the computer in the mk3 then or are they just a pain to wire back up?

airbags have there own control unit under the centre console which they are wired to, not sure what other control units they use/share but i didn't want them in mine so didn't bother fitting them

they shouldn't be hard to refit if you wanted them as there basically plug and play
