i'm gona go against the grain and say i think you should keep it mate, i don't know how you feel so i'm not gona say i do but that's your car dude, this is just one more thing you've been through with it. loving our cars is never a easy/smooth path but we do don't we. anyway dave hope i'm not out of line just trying to give you some encouragement bud;). im off work now till monday so if there's owt i can help you with bud

The pictures really don't look that bad. To be honest when we were there the passenger side looked spot on.. Last night it didn't - It's because it was covered in dew and ice this morning. (Also the fact I had the camera set up wrongly doesn't help, every image is blurred)

It needs a full respray, new front bumper, new drivers side, new front panel (whatever it's called that holds rad/air con rad), new aircon rad and rad, new intercooler, not sure about the exhaust at this moment in time but sounds fine.. New wheel.. Whatever else.

I'd still be amazed if it wasn't written off by insurance, I reckon 6k is what they'd value it at, but it's still a write off in my mind, you'll be able to see traces of damage afterward - You could after the dog incident.

I hope it does get written off. It wouldn't be right afterward.. Also wouldn't be able to sell it if you can tell it's been in a crash. And to be honest I now don't know if owning another Ibiza would be right because it wouldn't feel the same.

Can't comment properly until the decision is called, but personally I still believe it's a write off.

Aye I know mate, it's just had so much bad luck though it wouldn't feel right, it'll never feel like my car again.

Oh, and cheers for the support everyone. Sure I'll be seeing a few of you over the next few days for help :D

Sorry to here this, I think we met ( or a least I admired your car ) at a Manchester meet.
Like everyone else has said you will be able to replace/repair the car, you are okay which is the main thing.

As Dave knows i'm gutted for him too on this. Had a few good outings with him thrashing the pants of our cars!

Hopefully i'll be able to help him out with anything if needs be

Well it's back home today.

Going to give it a clean and have a better look. I'm going to be kinda gutted kinda happy if it isn't written off, but it won't ever be the same again. Won't care for it in the same way.

No dates for an assessor yet.. Have to fill in a claim form first.

Andy, obviously it's better than black ;) still a boring, bland colour in the grand scheme of things.. Doesn't stand out on the road at all.. Too many cars are between the black and silver colour scale.

I don't like having something exactly the same, it bores me!

No new bits and pieces to play with, same interior, bla bla.

Looked underneath the car tonight and only one thing looks damaged, as well as the floor pan being a bit bent. Sadly now don't think it will be written off. If it isn't, it'll most likely be sold as soon as the car market picks up again, it's like having a cheating ***** of a girlfriend who comes back to you. I'll know it's past though. More than likely be able to see repairs. only thing that doesn't seem to need a respray is boot/roof.. so it'll look terrible.

As you can probably tell... Really not feeling for the car at the minute at all.. Could change if it gets repaired well, but look at it this way.. The 1500 in excess will basically buy me back my standard exhaust and intercooler (Pretty sure both uprated parts are f**ked.)

SO if it does get wrote off mate ,whats next? leon? something from the vw range? or summit not VAG

Dunno tbh. Have to think about it if it came to it. Not filled with enthusiasm for much right this minute though!

I say "same same, but different", you have a chance to make it in a different way, diff colour, wheels, maybe motor, remap, whatever.. You can go back to where you couldnt decide and make it the other way now, everythings opened ;)
