I know how you feel, my cars currently in the bodyshop getting repaired after basically have the same type of accident as yourself. Came round a corner, was a bit greasy back end kicked out and went into the hedge on the other side of the road.

And I'm not sure how I'm gonna feel about it when its back. Given the bonnet was a mess of stone chips and now its got a new one, im hoping it's actually going to look better than before. So who know's I may have more passion for the car than before.

But one of the ways I look at it, is that most cars are gonna have some sort of accident in their lifetime, so at least it's over and done with. I wouldn't call the car unlucky. Infact it saved my life. And that makes it good enough in my opinion.

Gutted. Not a nice experience. Hope you're well!

It could well in theory be better.. But I think the fact it's saved my life is the exact reason I wouldn't feel the same about it again.. Weird to explain.

Can't really comment until (if) it gets repaired or not. The sill damage is extensive, it's totally screwed all along the drivers side. Passenger side just needs a respray, dents getting out and a new wing..

aw yeh well Chin up! it will get better

i have an urge for a more powerful car again. the 1.4 TDCi 5 door old man red fiesta doesn't cut it.. at all.. depression.. it and other cars like it are the reason people would never consider diesel. (srsly a 1.2 petrol would be favoured..)

Err, are you trying to say sumet about my fezbomb or do you have a hire car thats a beasty?! lol. Anyway, f000k you man, ive got 61mpg over the past 100 miles driving in traffic in sheffield!

MK1 Leon Cupra TDi!

Go on Dave....you know you want too :D

He said more power, not heavier and handling like a boat ;)

gutted for you mate! it doesnt look that bad but hit and miss on a write off or not really. If you get a good repair done it will look the same as before, i know you will know whats happened to it but that will wear off it time! i see nice cars all the time crashed at work and they go out like good as new after being repaired you would never be able to tell whats happened to them! hope it all works out for u anyway mate

Mum's car yo, had a 1.4 TDCi shite fiesta to use for the past few years

I hate the thing! No power or torque.. MPG doesn't make up for that haha.. The leather interior is shockingly bad, feels like plastic! Only car I've ever felt car sick in cos of the suspension too :|

Im not sure its the same car then! As my fezbomb handles really well, throw it at corners and its on rails almost, true no power, nor torque, but the MPG does make up for it, for a daily a-2-b car IMHO.

What you have to remember is your lucky (I know that seems a bad phrase to use atm but you are...)

Your lucky due to the fact you have performance, you have power, you have torque and you still ALMOST get that sort of mpg.

The reason you hate the fezbomb is due to lack of power, but like it for MPG, so remind me again why your thinking of getting rid of the Ibiza TDi when you get it back? Cos you wont find a car with similar performance, for similar money, newer, with less miles that does that much mpg, and only paying that much road tax, whilst the insurance is half of anything close to it performance wise? Come on, answer me... a a a a

It's a 5dr 57 Ghia we have.. It's ****. The only thing it has going for it is the mpg, but that doesn't make up for lack of enjoyment.. lol.. (And I never said I liked the mpg of it (!))

Thinking of getting rid of the FR if repaired because it will never feel the same again, wouldn't have faith chucking it round corners, it'll be lacking FMIC cos that's goosed. Wouldn't feel like mine!
It'll be easy to find one with less miles tho, mine was on 30k don't forget.. far above avg milage for a car a year and a half old!

So you see.. The argument is just :p

Meh, mine has near on 70k and overall its been on the road like 2 and a half years maybe a tad longer.

hahaha
Mines done over 70k and its tight as a nuns **** haha
Anyway, get it on the road get it resprayed and drive it. Your saying it will never feel the same but its all in the mind my friend. It could be made good as new easily, its only a little bump :)

its not how it looks tho! Dave knows whats happend to it

I smashed my bike up and i cudnt ride it after because didnt trust it!

I would of thought they'd write it off tbh. Was helping him on it last night, and the sill is trashed. No idea how they fix stuff like that. Looking at a good few grand to get it repaired though.
