Er, well this particular one has a seperate brain - I had to run this to the boot in mine, was quite a big job just because you have to take the rear door card off, and I *think* we took the front passenger seat out to do it too, many of the new flip screen ones are self contained now and a bit easier, just require dash cutting. If you can be bothered, it's great! I'm too lazy to do it for a 3rd time though :)

hmm think ill pass aswell lol ! dont really spend enough time in car to justify a new headunit thought if it was plug n play might give it a go!

any closer to a decision from insurance company yet?

not as of yet mate - I've pretty much sorted all the stuff I want on it now, she's running properly, just gotta bleed the clutch and get the front suspension back in then it's ready to go off and await assessment. Bodyshop are fairly sure it'll be written off, although it really is borderline.

Intercooler pipework was reserved via phone by T. Spark

Think it may be a bit too bashed to sell though if i'm honest.

Wayne, car is going back to the bodyshop in about half an hour (still with 3/4 a bloody tank in :'() then within a week or two I should know the official verdict :|

Fingers crossed dave you get what you want out of the assessment, and least your car is running again. i would just rev all the rest of the fuel outta it, you paid for it use it hehe

I did try to be fair, there was 3/4 a tank in it! Was quite up for John's idea, but no coolant means that couldn't be done haha!!

Quotes have gone to an insurance now, waiting for the assessment day..

Sorry to hear about this Dave, hope it can be repaired and its a really nice TDi

B3NNO, hoping for a writeoff tbh mate (Bodyshop are sure it's beyond economical repair anyway. The floor pan is gashed.) Not a straight panel on it, so it'd never feel the same if back.

Quotes were faxed over to insurance on Thursday, so hopefully by Mon or Tue the bodyshop will have heard something.

Got a car to go see.. But it's a couple o hundred miles away =/
