Hi everyone,

I am trying to install the MIB Toolbox on my 2017 Seat Ateca to eventually activate Full Link, but I’ve hit a wall with the Manual SWDL activation. Here are my system details:

  • Unit: Technisat MIB2 (ZR)
  • Firmware: MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0480T
  • GEM Version: 4.11t
The Issue:In the Green Engineering Menu, I can see the "Manual SWDL" checkbox. However, every time I check it and leave the menu (or even just scroll), it automatically unchecks itself. It seems like the unit is refusing to save this change to the NVRAM.

What I have tried:

  1. Modified metainfo2.txt on my SD card to spoof the version from 0480 to 0481. The unit detects the update, but the "Start" button remains greyed out because Manual SWDL isn't active.
  2. Tried various SD cards (FAT32, root directory) with no luck.

I am going to use OBDeleven tomorrow. My plan is to access Module 5F and change the adaptation channel IDE02122 (Software_download_user_defined_mode) to "Active".

    1. Is Security Access (S12345 or 20103) mandatory before changing this adaptation on the 0480 firmware?
    2. Has anyone experienced this "self-unchecking" bug on this specific firmware version? Is there any other write-protection I should be aware of?
    3. Are there any other channels I should check to ensure the unit allows user-defined updates?
    4. Any help or advice from the experts here would be greatly appreciated!

    Best regards.

What on earth are you trying to do?...

You can't modify metainfo until the unit is patched to accept modified metainfo. You do not need to modify the Preh toolbox to install it
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm on FW 0480 (Preh/Technisat). I was trying to enable Manual SWDL via OBDeleven but it keeps unchecking. Should I use the M.I.B. (More Incredible Bash) tool to patch the unit first, or is there a specific script for this version to bypass the signature check? Also, once patched, do I still need to modify the metainfo for the Preh toolbox, or will it install directly?
To be honest, I don’t know what I need to do in the next step. I’ve been dealing with this for so long that it’s starting to wear me out.

You don’t need to enable manual SWDL do install the toolbox.

You don’t need to patch the unit to install the toolbox (assuming your unit has navigation)

If your unit is without navigation, you can’t install without patching. You can’t patch non nav units via SD.

Take the car to a specialist

Thanks for the guidance. I've realized that I cannot modify this unit on my own. I did some research on M.I.B. but found out it is strictly for Harman units and not compatible with my MST2 Preh/Technisat (0480). Since my unit has only one SD slot and no navigation, it seems there is no way to patch it via SD card. Before I take it to a specialist as you suggested, are there any other alternative methods or options left to install the toolbox for this specific hardware configuration?
