my gt30 ibiza cupra,rollcage,bride seats, part time track car new track wheels :)

Haha cheers mate drove it around the block earlier was a mad feeling driving it felt weird the seating position is crazy the steering wheel is right infront and about 6" closer than the standard wheel it's awesome though feels like a proper track car awkward to get in and out but i love it it's been a long time coming if all goes well I'll be taking it to gti international that is my deadline
 
dont know if i should carry on these updates no-one seems interested lol

fitted the cage completely and also took it for another drive this time i had boost and lots of it, i have been waiting on a few peices to finish the car off and this week i got dave 4wd ibiza to weld me an extension to my actuator bracket so now there is boost drove it up and down the street a few times and its fast silly fast compared to my astra van lol,

also sorted the wiring problem i had the aftermarket alarm was going off all the time and the immobiliser was not arming or the doors locking so i traced all the wires back re-connected the ones i had to cut to get the dash out and fitted a new fuse(the old one was slightly corroded) and hey presto it worked!!! :)

so next up is to roll the front arches and get them in primer swap the coils or buy new ones and mot it i want this car to go to gti international painted or not so i need to decide on the coils by this week at the latest but being busy doing other things so its now on the home straight
 
it came off the road for a snapped manifold stud end of august 2010 haha then it all went downhill from there thinking while the motor is out ill paint this then something else then it turned into a full paint job, new manifold, new wheels, new seats, rollcage, paint the engine paint the intercooler pipes, paint anything that i could and it got well out of hand haha
 
Cheers for the comments lads it's coming along nicely now It will hopefully be at gti international next weekend few more small jobs to do and it's there,

Oh and forgot to mention I have an mot :) took it Wednesday and failed on horn bulbs and wheels on the front were too wide lol so swapped back to the compomotives and sorted all my bulbs and horn now works so I candrive it on the road now rather than just in and out of my garage
 
I did yesterday took my mate out in it up and down the local carriageway in the rain wasn't going all to fast due to the conditions but with the tubular mani it's laggier from last time I drove it awhile back, the diff is amazing second gear coming on boost it just launches you even in the wet I love it,

Just the arches on the front to sort out now and find out why 1 of my front wheels has more camber than the other and it's there, does anyone have any suggestions why I'd have more on 1 wheel to the other? I've lowered the car with the suspension bolts loose to gain maximum camber then tightened them up but it's quite bad
 
Sounds good, laggier with the tubular manifold, why is that?

I did my camber when i put my mo6's on as they were catching, i pushed both wheels all the way in and they look dead even both sides to me
 
thought i may aswel chuck a few pics up for all to see of the cars new paint scheme for gti international it was a touch and go kind of thing as i was pushed for time and really wanted to get the car to inters so i could give it some death up the 1/4 mile and get it out on the road after 18 months off the road, some may like it some may not but i dont care :)

it will be painted proper soon enough but in currently loving the reaction it got some like it some dont see the funny side of it but those people need to get out more its a laugh and thats what messing with cars is all about.

this 'batman' idea was thought up by me and my mate as we were all going up to gti international in fancy dress so i thought of a cracking idea of doing the car in a batman theme, the thing is i didn't tell any of my mates about doing it and wanted to turn up on friday morning when we were leaving all suited and booted so all of the other boys who went up with us had a massive surprise when we pulled up as no-one thought the car would be ready nevermind painted and stickered up with batman and robin in the car that was a start to a mad and awesome 2 days at bruntingthorpe and taking the car up the 1/4 mile and doing a 13.5 on the cheapest front tyres ive ever layed eyes on haha
 
haha i was shocked when first seen it then i seen car so all made scence , fair play mate had a top laugh ect ect , see you soon bud:)
 
:think: Not too sure on that. Can see how it can be a bit marmite, lol.

Fair play for doing something different though, although i do think it would look a lot better with stubby mirrors.
 
i know me either i had quickest seat on the sunday with my 1 run with someone i never knew in the passenger seat my mate tucked me right up lol my mates also have a vid of you on the sat night when you came over for a chat when i went to the supermarket of you grooming your tash and making a move on my mate dressed as a fat bird in the camp site lmao

also there's a pic of my car in vw driver mag and also has the times in there 13.6 was my quickest out of my 3 runs all weekend same as 3 years ago but i did have some real cheap ass tyres on the front and also running around 300-310hp on a low boost gt28rs map so more to come
