Well it never lasted long after this thread - it's currently sitting in a garage getting a turbo replaced after it went on saturday. Thankfully i was only a mile away from home and its still under warrenty which its getting done under :D

It proberly explains what happens when it runs "240" bhp

no thats what happens when you try and run 200bhp+ on a standard turbo

that's what i'm thinkin.... no expert on TDi, but got a fair few mates with 1.9 TDis (in ibiza, fabia and golfs). and they seem to manage say 180ish (based on PD130 BTW) before goin down the route of a bigger/different turbo....

as said, no expert (i'm more 1.8t man), but 200 seems too much.... oh, the claim off 365ft/lb or what ever is tosh

yeah, but the turbo on a PD130 is smaller than that of a PD150/160

can you not read a graph ?

that is peak torque but when its at peak power the torque it 312........:)

so what are you claiming? Are you claiming you have 211bhp and 312 lb/ft? By that theory, you could claim approx 160bhp and 365lb ft. The way I read it, is that you have 211bhp and 365 lb/ft

regardless, 365lb/ft on standard parts = problems....

Good luck!

Out of curiosity, was the run done in 3rd gear???

ibizarollingroadresult.jpg

You're doin 73.49mph 3,543rpm. Rolling Roads should be done in 4th gear (as any decent tuner would know). And if in 4th gear, at that RPM, I'd est. that the car should be doin 90ish. Thus meaning this graph was done in 3rd gear, but the RR was probably set up for a 4th run.... Which gave a silly high torqure figure

Blimey, you like to have a dig don;t ya.

Maybe you should just stick to 1.8t's as they must talk a bit rougher and tougher over there

the guys already said he's not overly sure on the reading, but he's happy with the car as it is.

i'm not even going to bite to that sherlock.....

but as you said you're more of a 1.8t guy
edited for accuracy

yeah, a 1.8t guy with a lot of friends with 1.9 TDis (Tom, Ant, T. Spark, Adam Kelly and others with golfs, skodas etc), So I kinda pick up on things

Not only that, but I don't need to be a DERV expert to know that at 3,543rpm in 4th gear you should be doing around 85-90mph, not 73.49. Thus indicating this run was done in 3rd gear.... Thereby, giving a high torque figure which is false. And seeing as BHP is calculated from the torque (again, common knowledge amongst enthusiasts, nothing to do with what engine or fuel type I drive), that means your BHP figure is also incorrect

Not having a dig, but if I spent my hard earned cash on a Rolling Road run, I'd at least expect to have it done properly.

Where does he say he's not overly sure on the reading? I can't see it.

You're right tho, as long as he's happy, that's all that matters at the end of the day

all you have done here is come on picking to and from trying to be clever and very childish by correcting spelling for what ? what have you gained from all this ? - post counts
