Thanks for the pics Roly :)
I did get a little bit further than the pics but seeing yours gives me a direction to head for (tough bugger it is to bend though)
Functional is all i need then i can tighten it all up for good.
Hopefully this will help others with simlar k04 installs (more to it than just a few parts eh?) and i hope its worth it in the end
Can i just ask if you uprated your internals? i'm "slightly" worried about the 300 odd ft-lb's of torque i'm about to put through my std engine, but i know the AYP is amongst the stongest in standard form (from what i've read)
All this hard work and to throw a rod would be a disaster in both time/effott/£££ for me

I took the pipe off and done it in the vice, just a bit at a time as i didn't want to break it, it's just trial and error from there untill your happy
Touch wood everything else has been okay and bolted up fine, i just wasn't happy with just extending the original rubber pipe for the heater matrix
Im still on stock internals so will see what my tuner advises when it goes for mapping, i'd rather run lower torque and hopefully get a bit more life from the engine but if the worse happens it gives me a reason to pull it all out and start again

That's not a problem mate, sorting all the fiddly bits is okay.

Cheers dude

Another update

Im making good progress now, thankfully

Today i've been making up the brackets to fit my new forge fmic, i decided on a universal core and worked out sizes that would hopefully involve as little cutting as possible.
The core arrived on thursday and i set about measuring up and working out how much i'd need to remove for fitment.
Today i set to work with the grinder and managed to get the cooler mounted and hose routes planed out.

I've just placed another order with forge for the intercooler pipework so hopefully i'll be able to get the car running again by the weekend

very very nice work there. just found this thread and must admit, you have alot of time and money on your hands!

also are you going to try and cut a bit of your front bumper out to alow more air in ? if you are i was looking at a mk2 the other day and came up with an interesting idea that will keep stock (ish) looks and aid the air flow.
if you interested drop me a PM and i will try and explain a little more

Looks sweet mate, shame you carnt get more air to it because it prity big

Im going to log it and see how it's performing, if need be i'll just cut the front bumper to piece's to open it up a bit more

Looks really good mate. Pipework looks alot bigger!

I've got one issue with the charge pipe side but a bit of playing about should sort that

Very neat setup.

Cheers, fits quite well considering it's not meant to be there

im getting crazy.... where did you find all the space you need for this fmi?? i cant do this in mine... .

If you look at the second pic the radiator is no longer mounted to the front panel, i've mounted it back towards the engine on the cross member (this has meant i can remove all the mountings for it on the lower part of the front panel)
You need to get the rad further back from the standard mounting position, once you do this you'll be suprised how much space there is

I've got a couple of plans for the front bumper, will see how it performs to start with as i'd had no issue's with the old set-up so hoping not to much chopping will be needed if any

Loos really good mate. Looks like it was meant to be there. This really is going to be a proper weapon when its finished. Im really going to have to see this car for real.

I'll be happy to drive it again, im getting impatient now and it's only been off the road a couple of weeks
