Time for another update but not a very exciting one this time

Im tempting fate by saying this but car is running spot on at the moment (awaits something major to happen now)

Im currently removing all the sound deadening from the boot floor, then the interior will be coming out and the roll cage will be getting repainted, i've got a few idea's for a new colour scheme inside but will see what i decide in the next few weeks, if i go for one of the idea's it will also mean the wheels get another refurb

Will try and get some pics 2moz while i carry on with the boring job of scraping off sound deadening

Both colourways would be good. If you need me to paint the cage just give me a shout mate.

Depending on colour scheme i may just prep it myself and send it all down to Gary for him to paint the lot in one hit

Martin's got alot more patience when it comes to painting than me, i just cover everything in paint and want it ready to go in 10 mins

No worries mate. Can you see how much he'd want to paint my roof and mirrors when you're down there please?

You are a nightmare with a spraycan! haha

It's the one thing i've never had the patience for, don't mind the technical, oily, dirty stuff but me and painting just don't go together, i'll still have a bash tho

Today i fitted 2 new wishbones but decided to remove the rear bushes and fit the solid LCR bushes, it's now camber and tracked up again and drives spot on, at present no more knocking but cadwell on sunday will be real test.

Car is now back together parked up ready for sunday when i'll finally be able to give it a proper pasting and see how good the suspension and turbo setup is.

Hi roly,

I'd like to do the same! - any specific part numbers for the LCR bushes? I notice these have a slight smaller inside collar diameter - does this cause an issue?

Cheers!

LCR rear bushes are 8N0407181B

Haven't had any issues with them since fitting, the wishbones went straight in and all knocking noises have now gone, if anything i'd say there's less chance of the wishbone moving side to side due to the smaller diameter hole

So I don't need smaller diameter bolts for the LCR bushes?

Time for another update

With Christmas coming and a bit of spare time on my hands i decided i'd give the roll cage a spruce up, i've had various different colour idea's but decided i'd settle for white again.

Yesterday i removed most of the interior and started sanding down and preping the cage, today i finished off the prep work and set about masking the screen and A pillars up.
All being well it will be getting painted wednesday and as work is closed i can get the heater cranked up nice and warm and not worry about stinking everyone out with paint fumes.

While the dash is out i'm going to tidy up the gauge wiring a bit and see if there's anymore wiring or sound deadening i can get rid of, i've also removed the clutch pedal and am going to get a decent bit of weld on it before it goes back together.

I'll try and add some more pics once the painting is underway
