I've changed a few hoses and ran new 4mm straight from the inlet mani to the dv

Does anyone run the bypass with the N249 electrically disconnected without the resistor?

apart from the trouble code is it any different to having the bypass and leaving the N249 electrically connected.

just had a scan and i got trouble code 17695 but car seems to run as before

cheers

Why do you want to disconnect the N249 if you've made the bypass? Makes no difference at all as far as I know. Or do you want to remove the valve itself without using a resistor?

hi, yes did a little rocker cover clean up operation; wasn't sure if it had negative effect with code showing
I would consider installing a resistor if I were you... I don't really like to watch the CEL all the time. :D Besides you won't now when a new problem occurs and gives you a different fault code.

Not got the light on, just a single code showing when I scan. Otherwise fine. What did u do with the connector m8, I just put the wire in the heat fabic stuff and the connector just resting above the 1st coil pack,

Was gonna run without the rocker cover but realised my bay an't that sexy so ended up fitting it so might be tempted just to mount the 249 without any of its pipework on the metal bracket again

I've heard that you can damage your ECU potentially by using ressistors. I'm just going to leave the solenoid but tuck them out of the way.

So i'm sure can people please confirm if totally removing the n249 parts inc black box etc and not fitting resistor cause just a fault code but definitely no dash light to come on?

Also does it never cause car to go into any sort of lower power state/limpmode if all parts are removed and no resistor then fitted?

I done a complete removal, caused a fault code (no dash light) but did not seem to lose any power. I reconnected the box and erased the code. Car felt the same so I don't think it makes any difference. I certainly wasn't tempted to put a resistor in.

Took everything away including the black metal bracket and the black plastic box, only thing left will be the small 4mm pipe from the inlet manifold and the electrical connector which u can hide away with the wiring for the coil packs in the heat protective cloth stuff. I also cut some of that cloth away. The bay looks a lot less busy now. Have fun

it is fiddly, but doable, i got big hands and did it, as long as you dont give up and persist, you will get it!

Don't even have to cut anything, can remove the clips holding the pipes to the N249 and join together with a 5mm hose joiner and a couple of zip ties. That way if you decide you don't like it (like I did) you can easy go back.
