Toyo T1R review
happy new year membrinos!
right, i thought i'd post up a brief review of the Toyo T1R 215/40 17's, also for those in doubt as to whether to move up to 215.
imo the FR/CUPRA should have come standard with 215's as the ride isn't so clunky, much improved rim protection, and i can mount kerbs without taking a chunk out of the alloy!
Cornering and road response is also improved (along with SS strut brace fitted beforehand) but don't know if it was the choice of tyre or the tyre size.
The T1R is a very good tyre, wet and dry grip is very good...driving through puddles you hardly get any aqua-plaining, excellent for motorways in heavy rain. As for snow, can't really say as we experienced more ice this year in London which you can't really assess on, however, i don't have any problems cornering or taking off on these tyres (possibly as i was more cautious on ice and revving low)
The T1R's have done just under 5k miles and are wearing well and evenly, usually run 34/35 psi on fronts and 31/32 psi on rears...turning grip is improved on the standard 205/45 PZeros
i would definately recommend the T1R's, however, would like to try the PRX4's next to evaluate whether they really are an improvement on the T1R's before moving to another manufacturer (if i ever decide to

)
anyways...apart from this nothing new, but coming soon will be remap and full alloy custom refurb :d
