Evening All,

While in ASDA supermarket the other day and trying to squeeze into a space i scuffed the front bumper on the trolley parking area of my LCR. I now have to try and repair it.

I am looking for a guide on how to repair / respray the damaged area - does anyone know a guide on here that would help or can offer advice.

I have had a search on here but i cannot find anything of use.

Cheers for your help guys

Alex.

post a pic of the damage. try and machine polish it out with cutting paste then polish it up. some marks if not too deep through the paint will come out but if its deep and can feel the scratch then probably wont shift it. to respray the area you need to rub down the scratched/scruffed area and if past the paint to the plastic needs priming. primer the area by masking off any parts that donnt need to be done. when thats dry lightly sand it down with 1500 grit or similiar grade around there. dont sand the primer away, just so its smooth. base coat colour the area, eg silver. after you have finely sanded down the whole are where you will spray. Then laquer just after when the base coat is drying or near to dry but not fully cured but not wet either. if you ave just lacquered the area and not the whole bumper which i wouldnt say to do for a quick repair. you will need to wait untill its dry and get some cutting paste and cut it back in to blend it in with the old paint and loose the laquer line and overspray... this is a quick rough guide no where near perfect ot exactly right. and its never going to come out 100% or even near what it should look like. paint will be hard to match for just one area and finish wont be the same, hard to blend in something like this, ideally the whole panel/bumper would need respraying. and in the long run after you have experiemented yourself and guaranteed wont turn out 100% probably will decide to get it done professionally in th end so i wouldnt waste your time and money on a DIY. If you want it looking right,

I used to do this for a living mate and to be honest by the time you've been out and bought all your materials you might as well just pay one of the smart repair companys to come round and blow it in at your house..........or get it done properly at a garage.
