its got 2 maps put on it! standard is 173 bhp with 285 ilft

and the race map is 254.5 bhp and 367ibft1

Cheers to turbo dynamics! brillant job and brillant mapping from torque tronixs ;)

 nice work!!!!
theres going to be quite a few scooby owners when you leave them in a soot cloud :cartman:

thats quite a hike between "standard and race", or should i say "wet roads and dry roads"

is yours a PD130

why did you refit the EGR system and the standard pipes from the intercooler?

yea its quite a jump! suspose its what mood your in! but i requested to have a stage 2 basic/standard map that works well with the hybrid, and the stage 4 race map.

When yor getting a hybrid map done which is a tad more expensive than a base map, you can have a few things done extra :)

as for the engine its a 2003 130tdi pd sport exact same engine as yours :)

and for the egr valve, its there for the time being but its disabled at the vacuum and disabled electrically

as for the piping from the forge intercooler, its not fully standard as the 2 oem pipe you can see are new but just out of view is the forge 57mm piping that goes from the intercooler to them pipes!:) there made to fit together with the right quick release system,
plus a few ppl reported that the after market pipes gather heat more. the metal ones gain to much heat and the charged air then suffers from it, but the plastic oem pipe is a good insulator

here you can see the after market forge piping, the one connected on the intercooler goes to the oem pipin!

the other piping that comes from the turbo is on the far left below the tyre as shown again for it, its 2 oem pipes then the rest are forge!

Sounds like a fun car! After fitting my FMIC at the weekend it sounds to whistle ( did you notice this? )but i can't feel any boost leaks - when we first fitted it there was n boost at all, i think that was due to a kink in a blue hose. I will need to get a boost gauge fitted.

You seem to be quite handy in doing alot of the work yourself? Or were you just on hand to take pics :D?

lol, all the work was done by my self, im a very capable person at this! ive removed and fitted my turbo 4 times lol so im quite used to my engine bay ;)

my job is where i learn just about everything about VAG cars as im an Audi technician in belfast in Co.Antrim so im used to doing technical work and mechanical work!

as for the whislte noise it could be a gasket the mounts the inlet manifold to the engine!

as for mine in 3rd gear with the window down you can hear a vacuum sucking noise from the turbo! like putting you ear to a hoover nozzle lol

Looks very good mate you will have to try and get some videos once you are done and bedded in propperly. Great fun i bet but in the wet may be abit tricky.

wets a bit tricky in 2nd as at the now magical 3000rpm, the wheels start to spin at max torque with the TCS turned off, and the with it on the light just flashes.

Then going in to 3rd it might spin or might not

to be honest its the most damp, rotton, washing car nightmare week ive seen in a long time. raining everywhere atm so ive not even had a chance to try it properly:(

Thanks, really enjoyed your report as i have a similar spec car:) Mine has a phase 3 allard conversion with sachs organic clutch, eibach pro street coil overs, strut braces all round, jabba rear ARB, torox 312mm 6 potters and to get the traction a quiffe LSD. Im on 93k miles and it runs like new:) despite 15 trips to the nurburgring and numerous uk track days. (did oulton park 2 weeks ago) It makes 205 bhp and 380 ft lbs on jabba sports dyno, doese just over 150 mph (sat nav) and 50 mpg going steady on a run:) Off to the ring this may:) Here's a pic at the ring last year.1.jpg

Yup, mines getting there slowly. Still on standard turbo at the moment, but use mine as a track toy as well as a daily hack. I must say the engine has never missed a beat. Im not sure a petrol engine could take the abuse... sounds like you've given yours a good work out too.

I did goodwood 2 weeks ago ;)

It would be rude not to give it a work out on a track especially if it's been tweeked. I find all short circuits a bit boring but its the only place to use the car flat out. The best 13 miles of tarmac in the world is the nurburgring it really is in a different league!:)

Just out of interest, what dyno are those figures from.

The BHP figure isnt that believeable, considering how low the torque figure is, in comparison to other hyrbid TDi's

Im only aware of one other car to produce a bhp figure on this turbo anywere near this, without the use of water meth injection or anything along those lines, and it was producing near on 400ft/lbs of torque.

Hi my car was dyno run at jabba sport and made 205 bhp which is nowt amazing, and a healthy 380 ft lbs of torque. It has a hybrid vnt turbo big FMIC full ss milltek system plus re map which was last done at jabba sport:) Has no internal mods as it dont need any.

hi mate did u have to change any of the internals for what u have done???

no mate just a whole lot of orginal parts replaced with better versions

replace the turbo with a garrett 1749va hybrid or garrett 1749b hybrid
a standard 130/150 golf or bora turbo sent to a turbo engineer
or allards vt2 and upwards turbos

bigger intercooler

tt brakes are minimal entry brakes believe me, you need to stop fast when going fast!

Egr disabled

straight through exhaust system to the back box (milltek)

Remap

upgraded clutch

possible Limited slip diff

should have you off to a great start:happy:

egr disbled, does this have to be done???

how much to get the turbo hybrided???

would it need another remap after the hybrid??? as i have one now just a tage one remap from performance torque..

looking to get a new clutch at the mo..

its £595 to do the work to the turbo as long as u send them an undamaged 130 golf or bora turbo! after vat and delievry its about £730 for the turbo all in

the egr can be disabled electrically when getting mapped

yes the currnt map wont be precise for the turbo, as the map trlls the car to kick in power at 1800 roughly

the hybrid will kick in at 2400 roughly and again at 3000 where all hell breaks loose
