Prices of second hand LCR's

Does anyone know whether the prices of LCR's second hand are due to drop? I see they are still asking 15-15.5k for 55 plates, which is much more than same age CTR's.

I really want to buy a second hand LCR but I am worried that the prices may fall in a few months when the second hand new Mk2 cuprs come into play.

Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers

Dont think Mk2 Cupras have captured the imagination yet - and obviously there aren't massive numbers around at the moment.

Prices of Mk1 Leons seem to be holding really well at the moment, as you have noticed.

LCR prices have dropped a fair bit over the last few years. 15.5k for a 55 plate seems expensive to me.
THere are loads these days so you can be picky, still alot of car for the cash though.

As for the new Cupra being less common, I've just been on a trip from Perthshire to Yorkshire and back. Over the two days I saw no less than six new cupras (at different locations and days) and precisely one LCR.

Not sure exactly what this says about the number of new cupras, but I've been doing this journey for around a year and a half and have never seen that high a number of LCR's.

I was thinking the same a few weeks ago before I bought mine. I think alot of people still like/prefer the looks of the LCR so demand will be there for them. Prices will obviously drop but doubt that there will be a massive plummit. 15.5k is too much, i got mine, 55 plate from main dealer, low mileage for 14.5k. Could of got similar a bit cheaper privately too, but was easier for me to get it from dealers due to travelling.

15k seems like the top end of the market and does seem abit on the high side for a LCR. Managed to get the price of a new LCR down to 15k when I was looking for a new car a few years back, settled with my LC as the salesman was abit of a c*nt and I chose to buy elsewhere.

LCR's are on the market from anywhere around 8.5k+ now.

a 55plate LCR @ 15.5k is a lot of dosh, considering they were once sold for NEW at that price.... I'd expect that at that price they have very low mileage.

Yeah cheers - I see that you do get a lot of car for your money. I was having a good look round the coast at the weekend and prices range a lot. Some garages are trying to get £13.5k for a 40k mile car on 04 plate. That seems very high to me.

Keeping my eye out still though. Platinum grey is the one for me - but very hard to get hold of!!

The right car, mileage, colour, and condition will always be worth decent money. Most of the low priced LCR's around at the minute are high milers or dogs in other ways. I paid 11500 for an 03 platinum. But it's mint, low mileage, and every service done bang on shedule. Some people want cheap, I'd rather buy something that's less likely to have major bills on the way. ;)

I can t see prices falling to much!
For £13,000 to £14,000 you can pick up a newish Cupra R (05 or 55 plate).
To me that sounds a bargain.

I picked mines up a few weeks ago for £14500. It had done 22,000 miles.
Price was a bit steep, but they gave me a great deal on a p/exchange.
I reckon if you have cash to play with, you could easily knock £500-£750 off the value by haggling.
Also remember to ask for new tyres, brake pads, 12 months tax and anything else that may bother you. I got all the above plus a full wheel geometry test. Even managed to get £20 worth of petrol :D

A few worth a look at:

There seem to be a lot on the market at the moment and the choice may mean people are looking to pay lower prices even for the better cars.

Mine's been in the For Sale setion here and on Pistonheads for a couple of weeks - plenty of views, but no enquiries at all:cry:

Perhaps the price is the main factor, but I think it's the right price for a 2005 car with only 9K on the clock:confused:

Don't worry. It will sell.
If it's any consolation, I would have been very interested had I not purchased mine already.
It looks super sweet in shiny black :funk:

Surrey darling...
I picked mine up in Jan this year - 55 plate with under 5990K on the clock and paid in the realms of 15.5K! I did make sure that they sorted all the little marks it had picked up, serviced, tax and enough fuel to get me home... oh and it is platinum grey which is mean to be one of the more sought after colours :)

A 225 for less than 9k?

Well I'm sure it'd be a really nice one at that sort of price

Nah I've had my eye out at the moment, also in the market, and seen a couple of nice example for around the £9k mark. Place called, IIRC, MRB has a load on autotrader for £9.7/9.8k at the moment, non silly high milers, looks like a reputable place as well. They also have a 210 for 8995 with 52k on, so they are out there, just gotta look. Or if you were willing to buy privately, I'm sure a 225 for 9k would be easy.

Saw a 105k miler up for 7,995 the other day as well heh. Must admit, it didn't look like a 105k mile car at all. I'm fortunate in that my budget is a little greater than these examples tho, so am taking my time and been super picky :)
