U cant be prosecuted with out evidence u were speeding, and as u only have my word that i was speeding i could easily be lying therefore this isnt really evidence that would hold up in court.
So are you saying you weren't being entirely truthful now?

No doing 80mph on an empty motorway with no other traffic is completely different to doing 140mph whilest racing someone in populated area. I'm taking the logical assumption that it's a populated area as I've never seen traffic lights on a motorway. You're quite welcome to correct me there if you really feel the need.

Ask anyone who's spoken to me and they'll tell you that I've always maintained that it's not speed in itself that will kill you, but the misappropriate use of it.

Anyway, if you want to continue this arguement then I'm quite happy to, but not in this thread as I don't think everyone wants to see our petty arguements. :p

was traffic lights on a dual carriage way, road infront of us was completely clear.

Bravo.

There are some quality people on this forum, enthusiasts wanting to share opinions, ideas and thoughts with other like minded people about a car/cars they have in common.

Then there are those envisage the Leon in one format or another as some supercar slaying animal, able to beat all sorts everywhere. The only difference between them and Saxo-boy with his 12 inch exhaust is depth of his pocket.
i havnt actually once said that the leon cupra r is faster than an m5 let alone that it is the fastest car in the world all i have said is that i beat a bmw off the lights that had an m5 badge on the back, wether it was an m5 or not i beat it off the lights. u can claim i am lying if you wish but what would be the point ?

i have never owned a saxo or a twelve inch exhaust and the only difference between anyone who ownes an lcr or a smaller car like a saxo is the depth of their pocket, other wise we'd all drive ferrarr's, porche's etc so thats a pretty broad comment to make.

no im saying police could not prove wether i am being truthfull or not just based on this forum as evidence, and as far as im concerned anyone who believes that you could be prosecuted for speeding for some text on a forum site is very nieve.

bit sceptical of that, only reason being i have been pulled over by a copper before for speeding who said to me the only reason he hasnt done me is because he doesn not have a laser gun or on car camera to prove i was speeding, so surely if they cant prosecute u with two coppers in the car both knowing full well ure speeding then they cant from some text of a forum, they need proof!

I didn't say you had stated any of that. My point was that I find it pretty tiring to read childish threads like yours that read (and I quote)

'had a race off the lights with a bmw m5 last night in my lcr (not the new 500bhp one).
The guy was sat at the lights pressing all his buttons on his computers and gear box to change all his settings with a big grin on his face, he got a better start but after bout 50 yards i just pulled straight past him, he looked so dissapointed id just creamed his 60k car . we ended up at about 140 when the lights infronnt of us turned red ! only just broke in time'....or similar.

I don't claim you are lying, I couldn't give one. The twat in a Corsa that wanted to race me from the lights while I was on my bike at the weekend probably told his mates he beat a sports bike because I let him carve his way through the traffic on his way to an early grave. He wouldn't have been lying either, but it ain't quite true.

I also wasn't pointing the Saxo boy comparison at anyone/everyone, it was at people like yourself that, in my opinion, give hot hatch drivers a bad name because they are so keen to race on the road. I have an LCR because I think its a good looking car thats quick enough and fantastic value for money. If I (as no doubt a lot of people who visit this forum) wanted a Porsche, I'd go and buy one. And before you say it, you're already right - if I don't like reading it its my choice not to.

Christ lads that is a long post! The 540 still has 286bhp so after 60 I would say the LCR remapped or not would need to be pushing pretty hard! Im suprised as your more likely to see a 318 with an M3 badge than a blagged M5 lol:D

this is goin on abit aint it ok he raced a badged up m5 bmw on a public road that was speeding as i see it, if he wants to race and lose his license thats upto him, or if he wants to stuff his car also upto him, th beemer may or may have not been a m5 th driver may or have may not been tryin end off th day some people like to hear these stories some dont, but u should also make sure that ur not in-dangering other peoples lives wen racing my m8 died racing his clio 16v against another m8 racing his rst, they both knew th risks but u still try tellin that to his family

my choice not to.
but your case is different; only the corsa wanted to race, in mine it was clear that both people wanted to race. some people would say we were both being twats others would say we were havinmg a laugh, just a difference in opinion, i just don't see any need for you to come on here and bitch about things ive posted. As youve already stated you dont have to read it, so write some positive input or dont bother writting anything, your just wasting my time and ures by creating a public argument.

You said it mate. Just don't get pulled, hurt or worse, hurt someone else while you are 'having a laugh'.

That's the thing though isn't it? To someone they're "just having a laugh", but to others it's a deadly serious game which could cost someone their life. I lost a friend on the road through someone "just having a laugh" in their car on the road.

Getting a call from a friend's parents to say that their son has been killed in a car crash is not something you forget easily, nor is the closed coffin at the funeral because their body was such a mess afterwards. :(

i'm seriously getting old, when i was 19 i drove a 90bhp Citreon AX GT which couldnt race anything.

This lad is out there with 225bhp car, racing M5's and can't seem to understand why there could be a problem with that

Don't mean to sound patronising, but your comments in this thread haven't done you any favours.
