Rear Aero Wiper fitting guide?

Does anyone happen to have one? Done a search, but I can only find posts from early last year with people having a struggle putting theirs on.

I know there's something about filing the cap down a bit so that it fits?

Mine came as "Ibiza Rear Aero Wiper" from Vagparts. Is that the Polo one still or the (from what I've heard) not so good version from the facelift Ibiza?

Enough questions. :p

It does bolt straight on, but the cap needs trimming with a stanley knife otherwise it keeps popping off. Fit it and run the rear wiper and you'll see where it needs trimming....

Got the bolt off, but how do you get the arm off? We were a bit puzzled by that, so have left it until tomorrow to try it when it's a bit lighter.

Spray some WD-40 on it and leave it overnight and then literally just pull it off.

The old one's on pretty tight isn't it? Have cleared all the dried up screenwash from around the arm where it fits onto the bolt and have put some more WD40 on it to try it again tomorrow.

Tried that there, no joy still. I reckon it's just the dried up screenwash that's causing the problem, but I thought I had got all of that cleared out of the way. Can't believe this is so difficult to get off, it's only been on the car since spring 2006 when it was built.

You may also need to shave some plastic off the back of the wiper arm.

On my 03 130 all i had to modify was the cap. I fitted the same arm to my 04 Cupra and it has scratched the rear screen!

I'm that tired of the rear washer jet not working because of the cap that I'm going to buy the facelift (Fabia) rear wiper.

I've noticed on eBay that you can get retro-fit aero rear wipers for the Ibiza that clip onto the existing arm. Anybody tried these? Might be less hassle than trimming down the Polo one that's currently on........
