My jackpoint cover was not fitted when I bought the car, but it was in the boot. Ive tried fitting it back on, but its a complete pain in the arse!!!

Is there some secret knack of fitting them that I dont know about?

there is but that would be telling

i find that you put the front side in first then have to push and pull at back of cover under car and tap it in or use a rubber mallet which works well

you slide the inner clips in first then push the outer clips up until they click into place.

i took all four off mine to stick it on the lift to fit my LCR splitter today

Didn't have a problem getting them on

I've found the top edge is lipped so feed that into the skirt and then just push the cover back into postion and with a firm smack with you hand they should stick :)

I'm half tempted to make a How to vid !!

Okay this might be a stupid question but you do realise the front and rear are different?
They are a PITA
I found a flat blade screwdriver helped also getting the car lifted a bit so you can give it a right smack

i've found my absolute arse's to get back on!!!

now they're on i do not remove! brought a lower lift point jack and use two blocks of wood for the front just to avoid taking them off! worst designed part on the car! lol

put the top in, hold it in place. smack it with you hand!! Works every time.

DiD take me ages to get mine on tho the first time :D Having to HIT you brand new cars is not good :D

had a similiar problem with mine when the young geezer took one off to get his jack underneath the car. When it came to putting it back on it was a total nightmare. However as I was paly with the local dealer I took it to them and they fitted it straight away. You would have thought they would improve on such items, some things bever change i guess.
