mashburn,
i see from another thread that your trying a more progressive setup, how did it go if you dont mind me asking...

ive been on the same, Boost 8 timing 4 for a few months now..

ive recently changed to Boost 8 timing 6, which has given me slightly better performance according to liquid gauge, BUT,

the power delivery seems to be much better on timing 4
just my 2 pence worth :)

hello lads

since winter is here,
do you guys increase your timing levels?

if so, what boost n timing do you use for these cold conditions..

cheers

Interesting thread.

Just got myself an sps3 so will be messing soon.

Is fueling on 9 as standard?

My settings from my tuner was boost 9 timing 3 (I couldnt get any premium fuel at the time).

Timing is going up to 4 or 5 - boost coming down to 8 during the hotter months.

Will log and see how well my FMIC is getting rid of the heat.

Mine came with Boost = 6, Timing = 2 and Fuel = 8 when I first checked. I put timing up to 4 but saw some CFs when logged - these have now gone since fitting colder plugs (NGK Iridium BKR7EIX), bear that in mind if you start seeing CFs.

I'm told that the fuel setting isn't supported on 1.8T engines so can't see that changing it will have any effect - anyone know any better?

same.
in another thread, i remember revo karl confirming that fueling cannot be adjusted on our cars.

im still on boost 8 timing 4, although im always checking for CF's every few months

one thing ive learned is that just becuase i didnt get CF's 6 months ago, doesnt mean i wont get them now.
i remember sometime last year i suddenly started getting high CF's (same revo settings etc etc)
turned out my Air intake temp sensor was boll*xed which was causing the CF's etc etc.

always try n log your car every few months
sensors, spark plugs can all go faulty without you knowing.

What fuel do you tend to run on? Did you try run on timing 5?

always tescos 99, no messing about.

ive tried boost 5 and 6 but im not happy with the increased CF's so i just stick it back to 4. i dont like straining the car too much.

the cars feels good on B8 T4. smooth all the way, pulls hard.

no worries mate.

do you have an upgraded intercooler?
your car should be fine with the higher timing if you do...

also worth logging the fuelling (AFR/lambda)

dont wanna be running too rich or lean

its all important. not just Cf's and intake temps.
