Been to monster Motorsport on friday to have the winter mega service done on the car, was a bargain price for it also got the coolant changed as it was a messy pink colour :blink:but i noticed that the oil grade for the shell helix ultra 5-40w but if ive heard correctly isnt the oil grade ment to be 5-30w  or is there no problem using either or does it have the correct grade in it now?

SEAT dealers would tell you 5w 40 Quantum Platinum fully synthetic (which is a volkswagen owned company), I would think any good 5w fully synthetic oil would be okay as the weather as it is now is about as 'extreme' as Britain gets!!

According to the Manufacturer Data Sheet Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 meets
VW Spec's 502.00, 505.00 and 503.01.

The recommended VW Spec's to be met for a TFSI engine are 504 & 507 according to
various lubricant manufacturers.

Just passing on the info. as I am no expert.

Castrol Edge 5W-30, Gulf GVX 5W-30, Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30, etc. meet VW 504 and 507
spec.
