Clutch and fly are bedding in nicely and I've yet to give the car a spanking for obvious reasons, but already I can feel so much of an improvement.

Gear changes feel slicker and more solid and even steady acceleration feels instant where previously there was hesitation due to the slip which before now I didn't even really notice.

Next step I think might be to get the Eibachs on.

I'm still hoping I can get the APR map done at the end of the month but waxing £2.5k in less than a week on the car has hit the budget somewhat lol so it may have to be put on the back burner, time will tell.

EDIT - Just realised I never mentioned which flywheel I went for, went for a Sachs Stage 1 clutch and standard issue LUK DMF, both work together nicely and a few others on here are running the same setup with big power so that was good enough for me :)

Update time y'all

The replacement clutch and flywheel have settled in nicely, and in good time too as today was the day to pilot the car over to Awesome GTI and have the APR stage 1 map loaded on to her (I managed to get in on the group buy arranged by Evan@APR)

I found out not long after I booked it that there was a rolling road day organised by some of the guys here on the same day, just a shame I can't afford to run the car with the rest of the guys to see what the map has done (it's been an expensive month!) :(

On the drive over the wife said "let's run it on the dyno and see what's what" can't argue with that can I ;) so we scrounged under the car seats and managed to get a little change together to get the car put in the running order for the day.

Showed up at Awesome just before 10am and handed the keys over and went off to mingle with the rest of the SCN folks (lovely bunch :))

Roughly an hour later the map was loaded on and about another 20 minutes after that the car was strapped in and ready to go (I nearly missed it as I was in getting a drink!!! :snack:)

Briskly made my way over to watch/film the runs and see how she got on, she had 3 good runs with the APR stage 1 version 3.4 map and below is the output graph.

The guys at Awesome were all mega impressed with the figures, I was blown away, and the main kicker was that the runs were all done on the 95 octane slot, if I'd had her brimmed with VPower rather than Tesco 99 (which the chaps at Awesome don't speak well of hence it being run on the 95 program) then we could have potentially been looking at ~340 from nothing more than a stage 1 map and a Revo intake :-o

I think it goes without saying that I am over the moon and based on my experience, I would recommend the APR software to anyone considering getting a remap, expensive yes but you can see why when you get the results.

Also a big thank you to the guys at Awesome for being their usual professional and friendly selves

Drives a lot like it did before, the map feels very oem in my opinion but obviously with a lot more urgency when you really squeeze the pedal, 2nd gear is interesting now when you bury the throttle lol

It does feel like a more smooth power delivery than before and there is a lot more interaction from the Revo intake now ;)

I'm also really happy with the added features like valet mode which is a nice to have.

It feels nice and easy to drive as well, if I'm just cruising for example, but when ya boot it, it's insane

Can't wait til I've got me new tyres on and ARBs

My mate couldn't keep up in his 135i, he was wounded ;), so just wait til ya stage 2, it's a totally different animal

Is that what you'd go for next if u were me???

Getting cat back in a week or so, so dunno what to get next

Desperate to sort the ride height out but can't afford coilovers next

Happy with the brakes, just wana improve handling

I would do ARB's and antilift kit mate, and engine mounts if on a budget :)

I run the eibach sportlines with bilsteins b12's and its a good set up but the BIGGEST handlingdifference maker by far for me was the wavetrack limited slip differential

I was gna get a diff first, but a few ppl have said to get ARBs first so not sure!!!

Not on a budget as such, just impatient and would rather do some bits and pieces for handling now

The lad who does a lot of work on my car suggested doing that, as I wouldn't use the height adjustments on the coilovers like, so it'd be wasted on me!!!

Was nice to meet you today Crafoo.

I don't think you'll have any height issues with springs, my is fine and there is some massive speed bumps around my area.

Your Revo intake on the rr today sounded really good I was surprised how much louder it was compared to my Evoms.
