oh one other thing, when im digging up the side trim at the drivers footwell, there is the bonnet catch, and the button to disable the ultrasonics.

any tips and tricks on how to remove this panel without disrupting that lot?

The connector is the OBD2 port for vagcom and the likes is it not? No idea about your other questions though! sorry!

Yes strip the door to dynamat if you want to sound proof.

Personally i'd check behind the scuttle panel before using the washer pipe grommet for a power cable. I think the Ibiza has the same grommets as the Fabia to route the power cable though (easily takes 4awg cable).

Take a look at the right hand side as you look at the engine bay.

You have to undo the window from the regulator before it comes out so it either has to be up and secured or removed.

Sure you'l find anything your after in the forum there, there used to be an ibiza install guide there (with pics), not sure if it's still there tho but worth a look.

You can secure the window up whilst working with some masking tape looped over the top of the door frame.
