I've got another idea I'm playing with.
My mates are spraying another car the 28th and seeing as my hood is in quite shabby state, I was thinking of spraying it black.
What you guys think?

And, should I go for matt black or metallic black (clear coating)?

don't do it! if it was a totally different colour (ie, red, blue, silver etc) then it'd be ok. But on such a dark grey car, it would look like either a) you had a poor paint job or b) look like you've had an accident recently and running around with a replacement bonnet not sprayed yet.

Don't! seriously!

 Dude you feeling ok...?

It would tacky particularly now you have the dark wheels. If you're guna change it then only consider carbon fiber imo.

Like mat says, looks like it's waiting to be finished.

Did anyone see the Croatian Seat club posts a while back?
One of them had some black & grey action which looked pretty mean to be honest.
Just my 2pence worth.

this a hard one!
i personally think your car is to dark to pull it off
but if you really have your heart set on it i would go with the same colour you painted your wheels!
what about painting your roof too think that would work?
that way it wouldn't look like you have replaced your bonnet!
good luck with it!

hmm difficult.

I can see where you people are coming from with the 'unfinished look'

don;t particularly think that the black would look bad against the grey.
And as for costs, its not a problem. Will cost me only a couple of tenners.

Vynil would be far far more expensive for me.

I haven't decided yet...

anyone see means to photoshop something for me?

IMO for the price i can't not do it.
