Tailgate rattle

lol how many rattles from the boot can one car have?

i know i have a clip loose inside the trim on my boot lid, it moves around when i lift and close the boot lid - from when i had the trim off to re-attatch my wiper pipe.

also my rear seats sqeak and rub when going over speed bumps.

and the panel in the rear left below the back-left window rattles quite often, if i have a passenger in the back i ask them to thump it and it stops for a little while but always returns.

but i normally have music on too loud to notice most of the time!

mine has a rattle from the boot.. could swear its the boot catch, i got it looked at by seat ages ago and they just lubed up a few joints and the catch, and stopped 4 a while but its back.

May just have a go myself on different bits untill i find it

Hi, i had a similar prob with my leon. It was really bad when goin over bumps in the road. I checked all the things listed above but didn't find anything. Until one Saturday mornin when i really went to town on it, with me driving and my cousin sitting in the boot we found the noise was coming from the flappy tailgate opener mechanism. I had to remove the inner trim on the boot lid to gain access to it and found a loose metal armature, slapped some grease in the gap and it was sorted. Although recently i have been blessed with another rattle this time its from the trim around the window.

Seems to be getting louder in mine, but it also seems to be coming from the rear passenger wheel area.

I think i might write down the things in this thread so far, and check over everything mentioned.
