it shouldnt require re-coding if its the origional pod as the coding is wrote to the internal memory of the eeprom. It would need re-coding if it was a substitute pod.

For some reason on some of them gateway drops its soft coding (much like the ABS control unit does). Caught me out the first time I started working on the SEATs many moons ago as it wasnt something that happened on the MK4 Golf or Audis I had worked on in the past.

I tend to find that the quality and reliability of vw and audi electronic systems is far better and more advanced/up to date than the seat and skoda stuff. I've had similiar happen on an audi but luckyly it reset itself when i disconnected the battery for 30mins (not normally what i would call a fix but in this occasion it worked) never the less i still shat myself when the new a4 cab i was working on wouldnt run. :confused:
