After u said it I went looking at pics of my alfa... Realised it was the right thing to do haha

Silver caps complement the wheels more than gloss black ones as they didn't tie in colour wise too dark.

Problem I have now is do I do anthracite caps... Then I'll end up doing the inserts anthra or keep as it is and try to stay away from the carbon bug

i got the carbon out again today, re done my badge and surround then painted the grill black, gutted though it dried in more of a satin black, it must have been the cold...or my reading but im sure it says gloss lol
i still think keeping grills black anthra caps OR how about the seat auto emotion caps? there black with red.
i wana see the end product on the car... then think about the caps actualy

@t32er - Just realised mate, crossed wires here, 'Caps' I mean wing mirror casings haha, the wheel caps are OEM Seat still. SO wing mirrors back silver (for now).

@Mark - it helps with the bonding... of Maccy chips to my stomach

@Sean - yeah seen these ones, if I end up with the carbon bug I reckon they may be a purchase

Great job on the wheels mate

Looking forward to seeing the car with them all on.

You should have cleaned in your arches whilst the wheels were off.

Hey Tyrer,

I'm a sucker for anthracite coloured wheels on a silver LCR; looks great! Do they have a nice shine to them? You happy with the colour selection?

With regards to the colour of the wing mirrors, it's a tough one. The grills look like they've been finished in a black? It might tie in nicely if the mirrors were black too. I have ebony black wing mirror covers on mine and I went with that colour as it made the wing mirrors look a little more discrete, as apposed to yellow... They also go well with the colour of the plastics of the mirror too. How about carbon to tie in with the front badge?

The new additions look nice too. I had a Pipercross panel filter fitted to the LCR a few years ago and I found that it made a nice difference over the original Seat panel filter.

I hope the weather holds up for you tomorrow :)

Edit: Actually, looking at the pictures of your gloss black grills/fogs, I would go gloss black for the wing mirror covers. The finish of the grills etc looks brilliant!

James.

The plastics are all painted Gloss black (grills, surround etc) and the mirrors I have just repainted from also being gloss black - earlier posts show them but with the silver wheels.

The wheels have all been coated in a PU Laquer for extra protection and are nice and glossy, just need to poor boys them.

Been thinking Carbon on the mirrors, just so undecided between Silver, Gloss Black, Anthracite or Carbon

Cars looking awesome mate!

You've done a top job with the wheels.

When you painted the grilles did you use any undercoat or did you just go straight to black?

Cheers matey :D

I sanded the grills down with 1200 then 1500 - painted with Plastikote Gloss black spray and then finished with Halfords PU Laquer (this is thicker for chips)

The wheels were done in 2 days, obv only the outsides as I had spent only £20 and was seeing the finish but after the 1st wheel I realised with some patience I could get a very good finish.

Again same process as the grills.

Honeycomb look nice I agree. Just remember it's all in the preb mate, I'm not great at waiting for stuff but having had to do the grill surround twice I learnt my lesson
