Urgent Help Needed. burning stereo (mk3 Ibiza)

Okay, so i just removed the cd player from the glovebox, my Center console panel display had gone completely blank, so i went to check the wiring, after doing this i turned on my car to see would the display light up and it didnt, but i smelt a burning smell, worried i turned off the car, and took of the Display panel, and while taking out the Tape Player Block, i Burnt the hand of mysef.. Why the f**k was this burning? My Back Speakers Keep Buzzing. and the tape player was making a BIG buzzing sound even though there was no Tape in it.
The Display Is Still Very Much Blank and my Index And Middle Fingers Are F*cked and Pretty Sure Covered In 3rd Degree Burns.
Any Help Appreciated and Needed Asap.

sounds like the ignition is earthing out on the unit if its only burning smell when on-take it out asap!take out all fuses relating to radio at the moment to be safe

as above. Sounds like a lose wire somewhere.....I'd go further than fuses and disconnect the battery, who knows how it was wired in lol.

i have it booked in on tuesday for a wiring check.
so worried as i just had to go off the road and if it went on fire i was F**ked.
strange you should mention Ignition,
the miles on the clocks dont dissapear when i take the key out. my mate said this could be a sensor in the ignition or something.

not sure if thats connected either.
