used to run a dynatwist which was excellent. you could hear the dv and you got a good roar.

im now on a 225 standard airbox and green panel filter. much quieter and dv`s almost unnoticable.

RamAir with a nice big 4" cold feed all the way to the lower front spoiler. The RamAir housing always feels cold to touch even after a long blast. DV sounds like Darth Vader's in the glovebox.

But I'm running the Std Airbox on the cold feed at the moment.

RamAir Maxflow as per my siggy pic, sounds great and wayy less expensive than the carbonio and dynapricey kits.

i'm abit shocked that not many people have said about the BMC CDA think only LCR User has said about this. i had a viper indution kit on my old ibiza cupra and sounded like i had a hore was sucking away under my bonnet . think i mite try something diff like a BMC CDA as people say they r as good as vipre kits but cost alot less!!!

I'm waiting for a tried and tested review of the Splitter DV. Until then, I won't pay the 140+ quid it costs, especially if it ends up being a bad move.

I have the RAM AIR on my LCR, and i am sooo happy with it, the light whistle you get on steady driving just sounds so nice, i find myself turning the radio off just to listen to the engine and induction note. When you plant your foot, the sound change is amaizing it goes from a whistle, to a high pitched sucking noise, that really lets you know you are driving something a little bit more pokey than your standard 1.4 zetec with a k+n filter on. None of this stupid deep "bwarp bwarp" when you dig the throttle, just a nice whine. The sound from the D/V is also more audiable too, not over the top but enough that you know it is there. All fed in by a 4" cold air feed from the standard intake in the front grill (did that chap ever make and sell the larger racing intakes). And for the price too, compaired to the BMC CDA i know exactly where my money would go every time! As for gains, well i had my 210 dyno'd at Marlin, and pulled 220BHP so i was happy with that, would have loved to have a run with the standard air box on and see if there was any gains to it. When i fitted the kit to start with i personally feel there was a noticable difference to throttle response from the car, and more urgency under acceleration, it just felt smoother, as for noticing power gains from it, well thats hard to say as it would be a small figure and not really noticalble, and the R has fast and slow days too. A definate good buy for 120 quid. A medium priced induction kit with top class results in my book. Buy one you wont be dissapointed...all supplied to me from Bill @ Badger5, top service from him i must say.

i can also vouch for the BMC CDA, sounds great from a burble at low revs to a whine/whoosh as the revs build up & change gear , definite head turner - well it's either that or the sound system.... or the colour.... or all three

I tried a BMC CDA but went back to the dynatwist as the car felt flat at the top end.
Also did maf logs and that backed it up.
I also really like the sound of the dynatwist

20 quid second hand green panel filter
free 1metre length of 70 mm hose
cheapo box lying around my shed.
can hardly hear it thank god.

seems to work better than standard.might smooth the airbox when/if i can be assed.
a lot of salt to be taken with these reviews guys.
anyone remember god knows how many tuners and mags were raving about that "widget" that was to add this and that and reduce fuel consumption?
reviewers sometimes have a "reason" for their finding one better than the other

On my old LC180, i had both the Carbonio CAI and BMC CDA. Ran them both with stock boost and Forge 007p, i'd say the BMC CDA produced about 1/4 of the Induction noise and 'dumping noise' compared to the Carbonio. I found the BMC CDA fairly quiet TBH.

I could measure no differance on VAG-COM between stock airbox, BMC or Carbonio. Can't say the car felt any differant with any of them either, it was all noise

I'm of the same opinion on my 1.8T A3, but the Carbonio sounds great

REVO, Forge TIP, 007p and Carbonio = v. loud wooshy.

i would swear by bmc all day, but at the end of the day any induction kit on a turbo car would struggle to make any noticable difference in terms of power, you will notice more power gains on a N/A car with an induction kit for example i have a mate with a 3 litre gtv alfa romeo and his bmc alone has given him 8bhp increase on standard power

No the battery is in the same place. It is a bit of a tight fit but does go in with only a little squeeze to the pipe and that pipe has now been changed to a heavy duty one that keeps its shape.
