looks nice. gonna put oem engine in at first ?
A BAM motor from an s3 or Cupra R. But with the AGU large port head. At the same time i will install new bearings and connecting rods. So i don't need to worry about sending a rod through the block on my first trackday

Its more exciting to select reverse trying to pull out of the pit garage.....dont need to worry about rods then :)

Hoovered the car (instant weight lose) and started to polish, until the rain came, could have continued in the garage but could smell bacon cooking for rolls at 11am, work stops for bacon.

Bored quarantine. Decided to extend my air filter to MAF hose by 30mm as the edge of the plastic airfilter base was nattering against the “heat shield” before. Before anyone comments on the colour combo I will eventually be going with red hoses, I got that blue TIP from sfs for 90 quid because of a visual imperfection.

ASH hoses seem to be of a good quality also.

Super easy bud i did it last week took 15 min

Here's a great DIY

Changing the fuel filter on my TDI was pretty much the first step for me doing all the stuff I do on the car now. Terrifying at the time, satisfying to have the engine turn over when you've done it, and something you'll be able to do in your sleep the next time round.

Haha i used that exact video. Sorin is quite good, i used one of his other videos to access behind the dash and fix my blower motor.

Also, changed the filter. Piece of piss. Mine was cable tied to the mount rather than clamped but no issue.

You have to jack the car up to change yours? Bloody hell - it's in the engine bay on the TDI. Talk about making life hard for yourself... ;)

Lol its pretty easy access still, and my car has been jacked up about 20 times this week with all this time on my hands out of work.

Its going up on ramps again tomorrow to check some pipework for boost leaks.

Wife’s Leon got another coat of polish first thing then later after car satin the sun all day a coat of wax, just the wheels to do tomorrow and the black plastic trim, then if it’s still nice my topless Honda will come out to play and we’ll see if the Convid 19 virus can catch us out on the twisties, it’s still dirty from the last run oot.

Rooting around the inter cooler pipes and noticed what seems to be a lot of oil on the pipe just beyond the pancake pipe. Is this abnormal?

I have this too. When I had the undertray off the other week to do the turbo vacuum lines, I noticed there was a fair bit of oil collected there.

I looked around online a little and I got the impression that oil does collect here as it's one of the lowest points of the engine, but I'm only going by what other people said.

yeah I got that impression too, I’ve cleaned it up with a rag and I’ll check up on it later.
