Been trying to track down the source of a horrible creaking that’s getting worse on pulling away from standstill. Feels like it’s coming from around the left footwell/steering rack area but can’t track it down track rods seem ok, driveshaft doesn’t seem to have any excess play.. these cars can be a wind up lol

It’s a real metal on metal creak so it’s super cringe driving with it right now. Checked my drop links and polybushed my ARB and no difference yet

Based on this, I'm quite certain it's going to be something on the rear of the car, on the opposite side.

Black does look awesome when its freshly cleaned up.

It really does. I waxed mine yesterday and it looked great. Unfortunately living in Somerset there is fresh sh8 everywhere and now it looks like an old banger again :(

Have you checked your ball joint or your lower arm bushes
Have you done a top to bottom and side to side on the wheel when it’s off the ground to see if there is any movement in any off the suspension?

I’m going to jack it up and check the wheel for play to see if its the ball joint or cv joint. Havnt had the chance the last few days

Wishbone bushes were poly earlier this year and they look fine, gave the bolts a quick check with a socket and couldn’t budge them.

Also checked the dog bone mount bolts but at the time couldn’t reach the ones that mount to subframe.

I’m also going to check the subframe bolts themselves as I had the subframe off not long ago, and the noise really feels like it’s around the feet area

Okay so,

I just ran out there and jacked it up and checked for play Top to bottom / laterally and none what so ever.

Does that help narrow it down? Guess it’s not the CV outer or the ball joint...

I would do rotten things for this set up. I need to strip my car down and go through all the niggles but I don’t have access to a garage

Same. The things I'd do if I had the space. Where I live I'm on a one way street, so on one side I'm playing in traffic, and on the other side I'm having to get out of the way every ten seconds because I'm on the pavement. I have to go to my parents' house if I want to do any proper work, only they live a hundred miles away, so it's not ideal...
