Bill @Badger5 reckons the diaphram oem (other diaphram makes available) is the one to have as all piston style ones bleed or leak - What i'm not sure of is the context - as standard/map 1 etc. I would like to see some definitive evidence from a sheer curiosity point of view.
I was under the impression the rubber diaphragm in the OEM was the one that leaked.
The Forge 008 on my old stage 1 AUQ (now owned by my mum) is coming up to its 6th birthday. Never leaked never needed a service.

I prefer OE items but if a car has been modified then an aftermarket dv is the better option?
As the spring can be changed to adjust the dumping pressure.

Forge did/do a device to adjust the pressure a DV sees meaning you don’t need to change the springs. Not seen the data and they don’t seem that common but could be a option.

Also the stock DV are really good but the diaphragm was/is prone to rupture with extra ‘abuse’ - seeing as the LCR was 225bhp you would expect the DV to be rated higher to reduce warrantee claims so 300bhp isn’t unreasonable.

I think the rubber just ages and you lose a small amount of power over time without really realising.
You'd be ok if you just replaced the stock one every few years. But then you find out it boosts better and then realise you've been driving around for a year with less power.

To measure up for the bracket to relocate the shifter I had to pull out the front seats out.

Of course me being me thought "Let's see how much my interior weighs" and I got a tiny bit carried away.

If you get really board.... remove all the sound deadening too
